The beer starts sweetish and round. Burned sugar, easy to drink with still depth. Malty-round aftertaste, not too sweetish, burned sugar with roasty bitterness in the aftertaste. Caramelly-burned ending. Very nice!

3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
Pours a dark copper-brown color, topped with a decent off-white head, slowly swttling down. Aroma of roasty malt with some chocolate notes. Taste is sweet, malty, with some caramel/chocolate notes and some roasty feel. Mild bitterness. Not my favourite style in general, but passable.

Lekker bock bier. Zwaar met een caramel zoetige smaak. Dunne kraag. Is zeker een van de beter nederlandse bockbieren.

Currently I am updating my ratebeer with al the beers I drank but was too lazy to rate at the time. I give the scores I gave back than. If I drink the beers again I might re-rate them.

Very nice. The last one of 7 seasonal Dutch bocks I got at my supermarket and one of the best. La Trappe and Jopen are less general available and maybe more original. This one by a Heineken subsidiary is quite good. Not too sweet, well balanced, just enough roasted malts, nice bitter hops, some licorice and a long dry bitter finish. Good to know that large scale brewers can produce such a good brew.

3.5 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
At the Dutch Bockbeer Festival in Amsterdam, this beer was awarded best Bock Beer 2014. And it’s truely a very good beer and a true Bock. The taste is complex - astonishing for a big brewing company. Sure, there are Bock’s I like more - but that’s my personnal taste. This beer is good - point.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
33 cl. Pours a ruby red with no head. Aroma of espresso and chocolate. Taste is slightly bitter and hoppy. Palate is flat and would benefit from more carbonation. Overall good beer.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle 30cl. Deep brown, reddish with a tiny off white head. Sweet aromas with some hops. Taste is not very complex, but easily drinkable. Bitterness wins over sweetness.
