Malts, caramel, brown sugar, bread.

Amber/ruby beer with a small off-white head.

Starts sweet, then gets flatter and flatter before ending with light bread.

Tap at Lokaal Vredebreuk. Dark reddish brown with small off white head that leaves a creamy film. Dark brown bread, lots of caramel, light roasted notes, some chocolate and toffee. Medium sweet with slightly vegetal bitter finish. Medium bodied with slick and creamy feel. Quite light in the taste and the finish is slightly unpleasant, but overall not that bad.

33 cl bottle at home. Pours red brown with low, of white head. Aroma: malty, roasted nuts, red fruits. Taste: medium to high sweetness with low bitterness. Roasty notes, hint of yeast and a note of red fruits. Texture is thin and a little sticky. Carbonation is low.

0.3 l bottle from local AH, bottled in September 2015. Clear, reddish amber with a medium large, frothy, slowly diminishing, tan head. Faint, sweetish-malty aroma of caramel, nuts, maybe raisins and some coffee. Sweetish-malty aroma of caramel, nuts, coffee and brown sugar, followed by a medium long, slightly roasty and medium bitter finish. Medium body, slightly creamy mouthfeel, soft to average carbonation. Not very special but rather well-balanced and highly drinkable. Not as sweet as expected, instead with a remarkably roasty-bitter finish. Nice!

The beer has a reddish brown color. The beer is quite clear. The beer pours a little amount of brownish foam. The foam is rough and collapses very quick. Only a little bit of foam remains. The beer has a nice smell. The smell is sweet and has a aroma of cherries. There is also a bitter roast aroma. Especially the red fruit aroma is nice. Unfortunately the taste is less nice. The beer has a dry mouth sensation. There is a nice bitterness, but it has something unpleasant. There is also a little fruitiness. But the dry bitter nasty little flavor makes it difficult to really distinguish all tastes. A pity.

30cl bottle at home. Pours a ruby red colour with a decent frothy tan head which leaves a bit of lacing. Aroma’s of malt and caramel. Taste is bittersweet with notes of malt, caramel, burned sugar. A bit of an oily texture with average to low carbonation. Not an exciting bock but still a fine one.

08-10-2015. 30cl bottle at home. Appearance is amber, clear, disappearing head. Aroma is malt, caramel. Taste is bittersweet, nicely balanced. Finish is first sweet then bitter, but pretty short. Overall this is not really a beer to get excited about, although it is a well made bock.
