A sturdy, full-flavored beer with a definite taste of fruit and hops

Clear hazelnut/amber colour with low head and medium to smooth body. Nose of caramel and hops. Taste of mild hops, nuts, caramel, toffee, nut cake and brown bread. Floral hints. Dangerous one since you don’t really get the hints of strong alcohol.

#Reraten!

W miare by nie powiedziec kiepskie piwo. Mala piana zólty kolor, slodowy, a raczej slodkawy smak. Spore wysycenie.

First of all I didn’t know this was 7% until I looked it up, thus giving some respect to the beer for hiding it well. Clear medium gold with a thin, disappearing, white, lacy, head. Smells of toasted malt, grain, caramel, with a light chemical compound like a glue and some light grassy hops. Medium very oily body with soft carbonation. Sweet taste of malt, toasted malt, pepper with a dry bitter, chemical alcoholic finish that is not too powerful. Though it has high booze it masks it well but it becomes more noticeable as it warms up.

the "better" version of the Amstel lager lives up to its billing, but still doesn’t rise above low expectations. The high alcohol of this one at least makes you feel like you’re getting your money’s worth.

Ordentliches Amstel! Test vom 12.3.2010, Gebinde: Glasflasche Noten: 12,10,9,9,10,9 - 9,50

Bottle of 300 ml at home, poured into a standard type of glass. Very deep golden yellow colour, with a two fingers of soapy head, quickly dissipating. Activity in the glass is minimal. Light lacing left behind. Aroma is of roasted malts and very slighty of hops. The roasted malts are also to be found on the taste, making this beer more sweet than bitter, although some bitterness lingers on the aftertaste. The alcohol of 7% is very well hidden. On the body is medium thick and is highly carbonated. Alcohol gives a warming feeling which becomes stronger once the beer has warmed up itself. Dry on the palate. Overall a good beer, maybe it would be even better in the winter. I consider it to be the "premium"sister of Amstel Sterk (Strong) 7,5%.
