1.9 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
A very ordinary lager that is at best good for thirst-quenching in the sun. Not very exciting.

You can’t move for crates of this stuff in the Mediterranean. Or Albania. No idea why. OK, it’s a sweet, malty, candyish clear gold lager with a hint of hop bitterness. But certainly nothing worth importing by the shipping container load. But if Vergina’s the alternative, mine’s an Amstel. (Re-rate 13/10/06. Draught UK half. Crisp, bready, malty refreshment. A touch of almost smoky dryness. Different beer to the GK version, and a different class.)

2.4 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
(Canned, brewed in Greece) Clear golden color with a medium head. Sweet-honeyish, corny-malty, lightly grassy-hoppy aroma. Bittersweet, lightly acidic flavor with some smooth maltiness and sweet honey in the finish. Light to medium-bodied, semi-sweet palate with soft carbonation. This was actually a surprisingly nice bulk lager, with smooth mouthfeel and a clean, sweet-honeyish flavor, with the acidity in control. Very easy to drink - a basic lager in its purest form.

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
A fairly lackluster lager, this is neither offensive no appreciable. I had this while dining out with the family and while suprised to find this offered (and it was better than the BMC garbage offered) it wasn’t really much other than an average, run of the mill lager. Nothing offensive in the nose, malts & grains. Appearance is nice to look at. Mouthfeel is rather dull and lifeless, and so is the taste. Fortunately, there was little/no skunk involved. The beer was wet, cold and went well with dinner. Other than that I doubt it warrants a revisit.

Drank this draft at the Ca Bar in A’dam last nigt and was sourly dissapointed, especially after just enjoying a nice meal with an excellent red wine. Very little taste, short and bitter.

Draft and canned in Greece. Available everywhere, not much taste, not likely to offend anyone. Ask if they have anything else!

1.6 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20
[Bottled] Golden colour, very brief head. Too sweet with very low hop rate and indsutrial mellow malt character. Though void of vegetable flavour this is not a beer to enjoy.
