Beautiful golden color with a mildly bitter taste and cheerful character.

Bottled. Pale yellow, heavily carbonated. Yeasty, pale lager, acidic and sweet. Pretty poor flavours.

hmmm, had a bit more life in it than the castle lager that i had before it, however i would agree with Daniel Browns "sweaty" description. Could have a cleaner mouthfeel for a lager. Not too too bad.

I enjoy drinking Amstel, as i live in Tanzania. It is a very grainy beer and is very smooth.

(draught) Pale chromate yellow; yellowish tinted head, dense and retreating lacey. Vaguely malty and grainy nose. Duff, suppressed malt taste which would becoming cloying sweet if there had been enough malts deposited. There seems to be some maize - wonder if anything else. Absolutely watery mouthfeel. Phouaaagh. Can't imagine how the New World is managing worse than this.

The beer is perfect on a hot day at the beach, but has very little substance or complexity. the beer is better than your standard American pilsner.

Not as good as its Dutchy relations and no wonder it sells cheap here at Dan Murphys. They must bring it in by the container load as the Dutch most probably can't hack it too much. The only thing I liked about it was its appearance.

Bottled. This is a really unpleasant lager, with a sweaty, rancid quality. Each gulp provides a mouthful of disappointment.

Thin, boring, pale straw color, overcarbonated, watery body. Only a minimum of the necessary flavors.

It's ok, for some reason every time I drink amstel it feels really heavy. A bit of malt in the flavour but european chemical after taste
