2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 Gusler (2654) - Tucson, USA - NOV 23, 2000
UPDATED: JAN 26, 2003 I just realized It had been a very long time since I had sampled an “Amstel Light”, over two years.
The beer pours archetypal lager color a translucent gold, the head impressive in size, brilliantly white in color, the texture creamy and the lace a nice fine clinging sheet to conceal the glass. Nose as expected, all malt, crisp, clean and lightly sweet as it the start. Top is skeletal, the finish is perkily acidic, the hops sparse, but at least present, dry aftertaste, and a decent if altogether to “Light” for me beer, but not at all bad.

12oz bottle poured into a shaker. Pours a clear pale yellow with minimal head. Aroma of corn and grass. Taste is about the same. Light bodied with a thin texture. Fizzy carbonation and not much of a finish. Overall, I’ve had worse, but I can’t say I’m a fan of this one.

Less flavor than even most other macro pale lagers. Not rude, but barely a step above the taste-lacking Michelob Ultra.

Clear medium yellow colour with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, white head. Aroma is light to moderate malty, grain, malt, light cereal, vegetable notes. Flavour is light moderate sweet and light light bitter with a average duration, thin, malty. Body is light to medium, texture is watery, carbonation is soft. [20120401]

An above average light pale lager. More flavor than you get from mostly all mass produced light beers. I like to drink this or miller light if the bar doesn’t carry any craft beers.

weak head, nice amber color, sweet malt aroma. It has a pleasant refreshing feel. Better than any light american beer

1.3 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 5/20 jobrewmeister (81) - - APR 6, 2012
Very disappointed at this beer. It was like drinking bitter fizzy water. No aroma or taste. Rating is probably generous.
