COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A special light beer containing only 3.5% alcohol and approximately 35% fewer calories than regular lager beer. But every bit as thirst-quenching and refreshing.

This is definitely not a tasting beer. It apperace is up there with a lot of beers, but the taste is in a different legue.

Tasted under its alias Amstel Lite. Typical ’light pils’, with a snow white, finely structured, sticky but not very stable head and brightly golden blonde, cristal clear colour. Aroma faintly hoppy, in an aromatic, flowery kind of way, pale malt and a vague honeyish sweetness, but not much else. Taste a thin graininess and malt sweetishness, smooth, otherwise very neutral and very watery as usual in this type of low-alcoholic lagers, only a very weak hop bitterishness in the tail. Basically tastes like the common Amstel Pilsener diluted with mineral water. Maybe that is exactly what is was.

33cl can served on a BA flight. Clear yellow, quite pale, loads of bubbles, huge frothy white head, lasts a reasonable amount of time. Decent lacing. Citrus and lemon in the aroma, some grain and hints of banana. The expected pale macro lager flavour, light maltiness, a touch of sweetness. Quite dry, very light palette, fizzy but not too fizzy. Short sweet finish. Not the worst of the style.

Transfer from BA review on 6-2-12- Poured from bottle into pint glass Appearance – Pours a very pale straw color with a small white head. The head faded fast giving almost no lacing. Smell - The smell is almost non-existent with just the tiniest aroma of corn and wheat cereal. Taste – The taste is quite light and is of a little bit of breadiness as a base. At the start, there is a light corn taste that mixes with the bread. This sweetness diminishes some as the taste goes on and in the end just leaves a light cereal taste on the tongue. Mouthfeel- The beer has a very thin body with a high level of carbonation – very fitting more the light tastes and body. Overall – It is somewhat refreshing, but not flavorful at all. Possibly good on a very warm day, but otherwise not worth the time.

Oh yeah this beer. Ok, well here’s my take on it. It was poured into a pilsener most of the time and a couple times poured into a pint glass. The appearance was a super light yellow color with not much of a head staring back at me. Lacing, uh...there wasn’t any. The smell, it seemed to me, it was a bit corn/rice adjunct like if I could even pull that out. The taste was basically bland and tried to bring back those corn/rice adjuncts to sweeten it, but they really weren’t there either. On the palate, it sat super light and showed a great deal of sessionability about it. The carbonation seemed a bit harsh for the style, but it actually wasn’t too off. Overall, hmmmm....another Light Lager, ho hum. Next, please.

Light is the optimal word here. Transparent gold pour w/ a rapidly fading white head that leaves no lacing. Aroma may have a hint of malt? Taste is a notch above water. Goes down easy but at 3.5%, why wouldn’t it? Not really offensive but not really anything going on here at all!

Draft. Completely terrible. Lowest of the low. At a wedding with 3 draft options do I quickly switched to Stella. Amstel has zero flavor and a harsh finish. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

So light....so awful. Have one of these outside on a hot day for Pete’s sake. The flavour vampyre came and sucked out anything that once was. Metallic, carbonated, thin feeling corny straw water is all that is left. Water is cheaper and in most cases better too.

Pours out of the bottle in a clear light yellow-golden colour with low head and thin body. Aroma of mild hops and light grass. Taste of light hops, grass, wheat and citrus. Mild and thin finish. Drinkablebut nothing very nice.

Got what I expected. Thin with a bit of malt and a big watery background, Drinkable, tasteless. This is how Al Bundy´s light beers might taste.

No me gusto ... muy suave, un poco aguada para mi ... Buena cerveza para una chica o una playa tempranero
