First, the calorie listing on this beer is based on its abv, and doesn’t include the sugar added to the lemon juice. A can of this is more like 150 calories. But it is indeed as advertised, beer mixed with lemonade. Slightly tart lemon smell, very cloudy yellow under a fizzy soda pop head. Delivers a bit of malt, with lemon juice, but a bit much on the sugar (I’m presuming regular cane sugar, since one internet lookup listed that). A decent refresher on a hot day like this.

12oz bottle. I must have been sitting on this bottle for a year and it still holds up fine. Cloudy rey-yellow body. Head fades away after a few minutes. Straight up lemonade tones. Very sugary, but kind tasty and refreshing. A nice alcohol soda..but for a beer it is pretty weak.

33 cl can brewed in Greece. Aroma: dominated by lemon. O: Refreshing light drink with a bit more lemon than hops, and more hop flavor than malt.

Nope Nope Nope, waarom dachten ze bij Amstel dat dit een goed idee was. Gewoon echt niet best. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Het bier is aangenaam zacht en heeft een fijne citroensmaak. Toch zou ik er geen 2de van pakken achter elkaar omdat het me toch snel tegen staat om een of andere manier.

Alone at home. Hazy pale yellow colored beer with small white head and medium carbonation. Citron aroma. Full sparkling palate. Finish is citron bit bitter dry.

330ml Dose. Klar und golden. Minimale Schaumkrone. Fruchtig-süss, allerdings angenehm süss. Insgesamt ein Radler der besseren Art.

3/17/15 (Can) - Misty yellow cloudy body, minimal thin white head. Aroma mostly lemon and very sweet. Taste did not resemble beer - more like lemon lime soda. Tasted OK but I expected more of a standard beer with lemon taste and smell. Felt like drinking a pop. If you are looking for a light ABV lemon pop, this is for you. Was pleasant drinking for what it is, but if you are looking for a beer with a taste which contains lemon, go elsewhere.

The big breweries of the Low Countries are apparently attempting to popularize the old German Radler concept nowadays, which I am not a fan of to say the least - and the name Amstel does not sound promising either. Thin, off-white, loose and unstable head, cloudy lemon yellow colour with vague greenish hue and clear fizz. Expected lemonade aroma, ascorbic acid, tons of white sugar, lemon extract, a weakly chalky touch, and perhaps a very faint suggestion of grains underneath, but too weak to be described in more detail. Sugary sweet onset paired with the same artificial lemonade-like citrus effect you’ll find in a can of Fanta, but with slightly less fizzy carbonation; ascorbic acid abounding, again that very weak suggestion of grains underneath and a faint, but notable hint of bitterishness in the finish, I suppose an echo of the hops combined with something vaguely chemical; needless to say, the sugary sweetness sticks to the teeth, mouth and throat. Quite okay as a soda pop, like the other mass-produced Radlers, and that’s about it. Not the most off-putting ’beer’ I ever had, just not suitable for anyone looking for a refreshing beer. Very suitable for anyone looking for a refreshing lemonade, though.
