On tap at the Amsterdam Brewhouse, Toronto waterfront. Straw with a ring of white head; grainy aroma; grainy in the mouth and quite full-bodied; with a light grassy bitterness to finish. Refreshing.

There is a sharpness of grass that I find overpowering. It’s almost metallic and has this grassy aftertaste like I’m drinking a farmers field. Is it made from grass? I just taste grass.

3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
My Bottom Line:
Clear pale malt character dominates this generic lager’s very mild herbal, citrusy hopping.
Further Personal Perceptions:
-A veil of foam sits atop the clear gold.
-The finish is rather forgettable.
-Drinkability is very high.
-The prickly carbonation adds a mineral tinge.
-This may be generic, but it remains a well-made entry level ale with distinct malt flavors.
On tap at The Saint Tavern, Toronto.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Can. Pours straw yellow, thin white head that does not last long. Aroma is of damp grains, hay. Thin, light body, light grain taste with a prominent herbal hop bitterness. A bit of unexpected funkiness as well.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Amsterdam makes some darn tasty beers. This one is just Meh. Pours a clear golden with thin white head that disappears but quick! A good representative of lagers with lots of malt notes both in the smell and the taste, hay and bread. Clean finish. A sessionable kind of beer, but really not my bag.

3.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Wow. This may be my new favourite light lager. Grassy aroma and a tiny head. But the hops on the palate are what's really interesting here. Really enjoyable with a lung pleasant finish. Nicely done.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Can. fairly clear darker yellow colour with a decent head. I find the aroma not pleasant, with a dank wet cardboard aroma and something soured; light roast, some citric hops and a bunch of funk that i associate with pilsners. medium bodied brew(which to me was surprising), some bite and a fast flavour profile. It is different, maybe a bit bigger and more flavourful than other brews in its class but does that make it a good beer...probably not.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
On tap at the Amsterdam Brewhouse. Pours a clear orange colour with average-sized white head and steady light bubbles. Aroma is toasty cracker, modest herbal character and gentle citric hops. Flavour toasty wheat, modest herbal bitterness and hints of citrus. Average carbonation. Average body. Stunningly good lager.
