I can’t believe Beaumont likes this - very wimpy malt character, totally lacking complexity. Sure it’s better than St. Ides, but it’s still lacking the kind of charisma required to put a beer of this size over.

red-amber colour, fine head, deep malty and pineapple aroma, sweet, strong alcohol presence, typical taste of a strong lager - not so much disgusting as most danish strong lagers but definitely not my kind of beer ...

Amber in colour but with little head. Lots of malt in aroma but sickly sweet. Same for the taste, to much german style hops to balance the sweetness, some warmth coming from the alcool. Trying to go overboard with the malts and hops, not a nice marriage...an upscale Colt 45.

A boozy version of their blonde. Dominant booze in aroma, and some regular beer. A bit creamy. Malt taste and malt aftertaste. Competes with malt liquors. Thanks for the sample Pootz/Pootzboy

Yes the alcohol aroma was present. That is not a surprise. Sweet. Not bad head for such strong lager. Alcohol taste was not overly exposed. Decent aftertaste.

I keep changing my mind about this one but I enjoyed this sample a lot. A touch of sweet, with enough alcohol notes to remind you that it's got a bit of kick to it.

(650ml Bottle) Frothy, white, quick dissipating head and an amber body. Aroma of sweet malt, whiskey, cereal. Flavours of flowery hops, sweet molasses malt and a somewhat alcohol and bitter finish. Complex but uneventful...
