radiomgb (1730), Peterborough, Ontario, Canada Feb 23, 2003 Clear red amber colour. Aroma of slight malts, some alcohol. Flavour is weak, with only a small malt presence. Thin, bland, uninteresting finish.
Sammy (3023), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Jan 22, 2005 A boozy version of their blonde. Dominant booze in aroma, and some regular beer. A bit creamy. Malt taste and malt aftertaste. Competes with malt liquors. Thanks for the sample Pootz/Pootzboy Sanchex (218), Brampton, Ontario, Canada Jan 19, 2005 A little skunky, probably from the clear glass though. Golden straw color. Unlike the Kerstmis, you can tell this is a strong one. Very malty sweet feel with no dry counter. Just okay. Cheers! pootzboy (855), Calgary/ Kitchener, Alberta, Canada Dec 21, 2004 Bottle...clear shows a pale gold beer small rocky head from a hard pour leaves quickly...no lacing...low carbonation . Aroma of boiled grains, some sour smells. Grainy thin mouth feel, poorly hidden alcohol..harsh finish...not good beer. Perhaps this is for the St. Ides 40 oz crowd who have the ocasional beer uptown. Lubiere (3184), Ottawa, Ontario, Canada Feb 23, 2004 Amber in colour but with little head. Lots of malt in aroma but sickly sweet. Same for the taste, to much german style hops to balance the sweetness, some warmth coming from the alcool. Trying to go overboard with the malts and hops, not a nice marriage...an upscale Colt 45. jerc (3102), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Jul 14, 2003 I keep changing my mind about this one but I enjoyed this sample a lot. A touch of sweet, with enough alcohol notes to remind you that it's got a bit of kick to it.
