3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 Spab (1194) - Toronto, - JAN 30, 2012
On tap at C’est What (from back in September during 24 Hours of Beer). Pours a very dark brown/black with only the tiniest tan head. Aroma is full of coffee with distinct oakiness. Flavour is quite oaky with strong coffee and cocoa notes and some booziness. Lingering woodiness in the finish. Defintely different from the regular Tempest but quite enjoyable in its own right.
3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 DerWeg (1271) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - DEC 6, 2011
Draught Smokeless. Subdued coffee-cocoa notes and greater liqueur-like sweetness overall compared to bottled version. Excellent again but with a more wine-like feel that emphasizes roundness and fruit over the roast.
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 mabel (4405) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - OCT 12, 2011
[3983-20110923] Tap. Roasted barrel and port-like tannins in the aroma. Black body with a quick bubbly head. Boozy charted wood grain malt flavour has a noticeable burnt sweet toffee aftertaste. Full body. Interesting to sample, couldn’t take more though. (6/3-/6/3/12) 3.0

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 blankboy (4434) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - OCT 7, 2011
Draught at Volo. Pours black with a small diminishing creamy light-brown head. Aroma is very nice, with roasted malt, chocolate, wood, licorice, light leafy hops, alcohol and a hint of maple syrup. Flavour of alcohol, roasted malt, light leafy hops, wood, hints of chocolate and coffee. Quite dry. Medium bodied. Pretty good but I like the regular Tempest more.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 jerc (5580) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - SEP 25, 2011
2011-09-23. Black body, headless. 3+ Flavour starts sweet and malty with a sharp bitterness and boozy notes to follow. Finishes dry and roasty with a bit of alcohol character. Booze grows as you go. 7+ Alcoholic aroma, bit of wood over dark malt and mild roast. 7+ Smooth average plus bodied palate, lightly carbonated. Gets a bit rough as it warms up. Decent but I much preferred the bottled un-oaked version. C’est What 24 Hours of Beer, Toronto Beer Week
