Mr. Jamie Mistry, Amsterdam Brewmaster, has brewed a beer with the perfect balance. Carefully combining the boldness of a pale ale with the smoothness of an easy drinking lager to create a Deluxe Amber Beer we call Big Wheel. Ingredients: Brewed with a blend of imported Pale and Crystal malts for a bright Amber colour and sweet malt character. Dry hopped with a blend of UK hops to achieve a perfect balance of rounded malt and hop taste. Taste Profile: A full bodied robust taste that is perfectly balanced. Not too bitter or heavy. Initial malt and hop aromas in the nose balanced by roasted male and caramel flavours. Not overpowering with a slightly crisp finish.

Bottle from the LCBO. Transparent amber body with thin off-white head. Some skunky notes apparent with very minimal smoke and wood is present. Bready and malty in the form of a light lager. Light-bodied, sessionable.

Drank on tap (20 oz) at Sneaky Dee’s in Toronto on October 10, 2014. Medium amber, thin head. Sweet barley malt aroma, fruity caramel note. Light malty taste, not to dry, no after taste. Big deal!

On tap at the brewery - hoppy tasting flight. Light graham & caramel aroma. Medium bodied with a decent mouthfeel. A tangy caramel malt flavor, a bit bready. Ok but a bit dull.

Ambré pâle avec un petit tête beige. L’arôme du caramel et un très peu d’houblon. Le goût resemble l’arôme. C’est très facile à boire mais non remarkable.

Aroma: Malt: Medium, caramel, Hops: Medium Fruity, apricot, citrus Appearance: Clear copper body. Merge, frothy off-white head. Not very good retention Flavour: Malt: Medium bready, toffee. Hops: Light, fruity. Balance: Well balanced. Dry finish. slight sting Mouthfeel: Medium body, medium carbonation Overall: As the 4th stop in a "tour", this is a very plain beer, until you let it warm up. The maltiness and overall pleasantness really picks up as the beer gets warmer (12C). 473 ml can, poured. Thanks Wimpie and Amanda! 10B. American Amber Ale

Light copper colour with micro-head but no lacing. There is an a little more than average carbonation. The taste is caramel malts mixed with a grassiness and and tiny bit of hops hops. There is also a bit of a pear juice fruitiness. The beer finishes with a malty sweet after taste with a touch of bitterness. Unique but thin and boring.

On tap at the Amsterdam Brewhouse, on the Toronto waterfront. Bright amber with a ring of white head; rather thin in the mouth with some sweet malts and a dry finish with some spicy English hops.

Orange and light hazel hue on this Toronto pup. T’is alright, nothing too offensive from this company. They’re not reinventing the wheel, big or small, but this caramel malt and piney and citrus hopped chap is okay in my books. I’d like to try more of their brews.

Bottle. I am surprised the rating is so low on this beer. I remember it as one of my more favourite amber ales. It has a taste of toffee roasty nuts, with just a little bit of hoppyness. It finishes with a nice medium bitterness, nothing to overwhelming, just the right amount. A good beer from a bigger brewer.
