COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Mr. Jamie Mistry, Amsterdam Brewmaster, has brewed a beer with the perfect balance. Carefully combining the boldness of a pale ale with the smoothness of an easy drinking lager to create a Deluxe Amber Beer we call Big Wheel. Ingredients: Brewed with a blend of imported Pale and Crystal malts for a bright Amber colour and sweet malt character. Dry hopped with a blend of UK hops to achieve a perfect balance of rounded malt and hop taste. Taste Profile: A full bodied robust taste that is perfectly balanced. Not too bitter or heavy. Initial malt and hop aromas in the nose balanced by roasted male and caramel flavours. Not overpowering with a slightly crisp finish.

473 ml can from brewery. Pours deep amber in colour, small white head, leaves minor lacing. Aroma is mildly hoppy, taste is nicely balalcen, starting slightly sweet, and finisheing with a moderate hop taste, but not too bitter. Very sessionable. Love the name and artwork.

Light orange colour. Head completely disappeared after ten seconds. Zero lacing. Slightly toasted grain on the nose with a distinct malty smell. Doesn’t come through in the palate, though. This has a very thin mouthfeel. Toasted biscuit flavour with a light fruity background. Very lightly hopped. This beer has so much potential but is being held back by the brewer. As it is, it is below average.

This is my shortest review so far. It’s just a beer. Nothing special. Pours... amber? Duh. There are great amber ales out there and this isn’t one of them. The most exciting thing is the can. You’ll rush to drink it just to move on to a different brew.

Mildly sweet aroma. Pours amber with a long lasting white thin head. Very soft mouthfeel. Basic flavours from an amber. Decent drinking beer but nothimg to savour.

bottle. Pours amber red with minimal carbonation, a slightly off white head that quickly dissipates into a thin rim with average lacing. Aromas of sweet nutty malt, some fruit. taste is sweet with medium body with light carbonation. No major problems with this beer but there really is nothing special about it.

From bottle at pepperwood beerfest. Pours clear amber orange colour true to its style. Slight malty aroma and great smooth finish. This should be marketed toward defeating mainstream large market lagers

a fairly trashy, uninspired red. better than drinking canadian lager but that doesnt make it good by any stretch.

August 14, 2011; 5.0% abv; 355mL bottle, refrigerated, BBD: None, lager glass Toasty aroma of caramel malts with notes of bread and roasted nuts. Pillowy off white head which is about 3/4" thick. Pours a clear deep brown amber with an active carbonation with small bubbles. Caramel and toasty malts come out in front with lightly sweet chocolate. A lingering hop bitterness comes through but is fairly mild. Flavours are generally light and not particularly complex. Beer has a slightly creamy mouthfeel that goes down very easily. The bottle says that the beer strives for drinkability; It definitely has that. Not as complex as I would like but meets its target for drinkability. Good price for the lot.
