2012-06-22. Black body with a nice frothy tan head 3+ Nice aroma has dry roasty notes, dark malt, modest sugar/molasses character. Flavour is similar, very sweet base, dark malt and sugary/molasses notes. Modest bitterness and roast lingers in the finish. Average plus bodied palate. 3+ Pretty solid porter, alcohol is very mild. 3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Clear winner of Project X mini-caskfest. Black with a show of bubbles for a head. Sweet roasted coffee aromas. Taste is mild coffee more than molasses. Yummy stuff. It kicked first. Unique in above average mouthfeel for a cask.
