3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
355ml bottle, 7.1% a/v
Pours hazy copper color with a thin bubbly off white head. Aroma is citrusy, grassy and generally fresh hops. Taste is very hoppy, heavy citrus and pine with a bit of grassiness. Just enough caramel depth from the malt to back it up. Palate is very bitter from the hops, you will love it or hate it. Overall, I love it and cant say so enough! Great work Jamie!

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
UPDATED: JAN 6, 2013 Pours a hazy amber with a large foamy head and nice lacing. Looks great in a glass! Aroma is of string citrus and grapefruit, hops, pine and earthy, almost biscuit-like notes. Good mouthfeel with the natural carbonation; dig the unfiltered look and characteristics. Taste is heavy on citrus and bitter hops with floral undertones. Strong finish with long lasting bitter aftertaste. A great IPA!

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle: Poured a hazy dirty pale amber color ale with a large foamy head with good retention and some light lacing. Aroma consists of bitter hops with light citrus and earthy notes. Taste is dominated by citrus hops with light earthy note and an astringent finish. Malt profile is quite dry though strong enough to back the hops profile. Body was quite full with limited filtration and good carbonation. Well brewed though maybe a tad too astringent for my tastbuds.

3.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 9/20
Aroma: Pine, citrus and malt. Mostly pine.
Strong caramel malt cuts through the hops so it balances on the palette and adds to a creamy mouth feel along with the tiny bubbles from natural carbonation. Quaffable, delicious and expertly crafted. Wow! I didn’t expect this. If you live in Toronto and you like beer, you know these guys know how to brew, but this is taken it to a whole new level. Easily jumping to the top of my list. It finishes clean with a little cascade hop bight and leaves me flush with pleasure. Ah yes a locally brewed IPA that can compare to those beautiful brews I get in my South of the border forays. God bless America (and BC) for there f’n-A IPA’s but getting my paws on an amazing home town brewed IPA has been a secret wish in my heart of hearts for a long f-ing time. Thanks once again to the fine crafts folk at the Amsterdam Brewing Company

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle from an LCBO sixer. I love finding things I didn’t even know the LCBO carries. Pours a somewhat hazy copper-amber with a small beige head. The description claims it’s unfiltered, but I think it’s more likely that it’s just slightly less filtered than it would otherwise be. Aroma is a mix of musty yeast and hops, very nice. Not pungent, but strong. Flavour has some very nice hops elements all the way through, reminds me of that time I ate a hop pellet (pro-tip: don’t ever eat a hop pellet). Backed up very well with a tasty malt backbone of biscuits and caramel. Mild dryness from the moderate amount of yeast present, and the carbonation is appropriate for the style. I quite enjoy this, though it’s nothing outstanding. Glad to see yet another legitimate IPA hit the LCBO shelves, especially an OCB example.

2.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
