Rusted orange pour with an average eggshell head that’s a little short but lasts. Caramel, evergreen and grapefruit on the nose. The caramel really dominates the nose is a pleasant but un-IPA sort of way, leading me to believe this can may be a little aged. There’s still enough pine and grapefruit to tickle the taste buds. Finishes with a solid bitterness. Decent stuff but not mind blowing.

Can from LCBO. Pours a dark amber with an off white head. Aroma is rye bread, caramel, toast. Medium body, medium carbonation. There’s caramel, but not too sweet, rye bread, lemon, pine, wood, grapefruit... Solid bitterness which offsets the sweetness. Well balanced and tasty.

Poured a hazy orange copper. Aroma was of pine, floral, citrus, and caramel. Tasted of big juicy pine and tropical fruits also had a good caramel malt balance to it. I found the body pretty heavy with low carbonation and a real tongue coater to let you know what you are drinking. I was really impressed with this Amsterdam offering. Definitely could become a regular choice.

Tappee at the Amsterdam Brewhouse. Served in a tulip glass. Amber, golden, brown color with some orange color. Stable white head, bit beige. Aroma of malt in the back, fresh hops plus a lot of floral aroma. Taste is innitial malt that turns quickly into bitter floral hops. Exotic fruits, grapefruit, citrus. Overall a fantastic ipa!

Pours a deep amber colour, clear, with a frothy off white head. Aroma is of pine and grapefruit with a slight caramel malt undertone. Taste is a little sweet up front but is quickly overtaken but an intensifying bitterness. Smooth mouth feel, lively carbonation, and medium body. A nice IPA overall.

I like Boneshaker and drink it fairly often. In Can or on draught, I enjoy it the same. Its dark burnt orange or old gold body always has a billowing and actiuve white foam and always leaves a tonne of lace. Intensely hopped, the nose immediately tells of pine, resin, and citrus, with a hint of caramel. Very bitter with a balancing malt sweetness. Pithy, long bitter finish. World class IPA in my opinion.

Pours dark burnt orange with a white head leaving medium amounts of lacing behind. On the nose, while there is definitely some citrus hops, especially from the tallboy can, there is a surprising amount of malt wafting up from the glass. Taste wise, this is very balanced. Some light citrus coming through in the hops, but caramel malts and the taste of tea on the finish for sure. This is a very nicely balanced IPA, although real hop heads might be looking for that balance to be a bit more skewed in that direction.

Another great trade from cards04. Cloudy brown with tints of orange and red. Foam is thick and persistent. Aroma is earthy and slightly herbal. Good malt grain lends for a moderate mouthfeel. Bitterness overwhelms the malts and tastes a little "old". Long bitter finish leaves an herbal aftertaste. So-so.

On tap at the Amsterdam Brewhouse, on the Toronto waterfront. Now at 7.2% ABV and 85 IBU. Golden amber with a tight cream head; piney aroma; taste of pine and citrus with a biscuity base and a soft and moreish finish. A well balanced and rather muted IPA.
