Can. Roasty and nutty aroma with faint fruity esters and some sour note. Dark chestnut appearance under a thin, tan sheet. Watery, nutty flavour that is pretty weak and finishes with dry roasted nut finish and no fruit or hops. Medium body, medium carbonation, nutty finish.

473 mL can. Pours dark walnut with a thin white cap. Caramel, coffee, roasted nuts and a hint of butteriness, some woody hop. Dry for the style with a lightly roasty and mildly hopped finish. Above moderate carbonation. A little too clean on the palate. Not bad.

Brownish fine bubbled head that has good persistence. Clear brown colour. Classic aroma of almond, roast, a hint of choclate. On the palate it has a medium body, has the same caramel and roasty notes but is bitter and almond like. light but classic. I’ve had worst.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Dark brown body, almost black depending on the light, brown head, some lacing, quite attractive and darker than most brown ales. Slightly sweet malt, dried fruit aroma, maybe some pepper, butter and nuts. Taste is subtle but okay, sweet malts, maybe a touch watery, but overall not bad.

Nice, easygoing brown. Pours dark mahogany with decent lacing and head. Some roast malt and nut in aroma. A little hops, though minimal. Finishes a touch bitter with some sense of musk. Tap at new brewpub on the water.
