Oakes (6819), Miami Beach, Florida, USA Jul 20, 2001 Thinnish, some toasty flavours, but it’s really never been able to hold my attention. jbrus (4095), Delft, Netherlands Jul 20, 2001 Radek Kliber (3284), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Aug 8, 2004 Small white head. Amber as in the name. Lightly spiced , creamy aroma .Medium to light body, some alcohol is show at the finish due to the weakness of brews back . Some sweet malt pops up. CapFlu (3254), Victoria, British Columbia, Canada Jan 4, 2003 Pours a big white head and amber body. Slight sweet aroma. Middle of the road beer because it lacks flavour and is somewhat watery. HogTownHarry (3175), Toronto (Harbourfront), Ontario, Canada Apr 30, 2006 Bottle (341ml). Poured clear mahogany with a smallish fizzy beige diminishing head. There’s some light but nice old-style porter, minty funky hops, plenty of cola-sweet malt - pleasant, but not on style and a little artificial. Taste is sort of a bland brown ale, light roast malt, pretty sweet, a hint of that minty hop, but that’s all, flat, syrupy watery mouthfeel - A little too oily and syrupy to be an impressive Vienna, there’s no lager character here, but having said that on tap on a patio it’s likley pretty refreshing. I like the framboise better.
