COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A blonde ale brewed with a single variety of malt, hops, and yeast. This beer has the body and restrained bitterness of a traditional German Helle, with the aromatic complexities of great North American Session Ales. Made with Vienna Malt, Columbus Hops, and English ale yeast.

Crisp and bitter but with open flavors showing lemony citrus, pale core fruit, grassy hops. Summery and great.

Bottle from the brewery. Bright orange-gold with a faint yeasty haze. Bit of skunk on the nose at first (yeah, clear bottle... grrr...), but once it clears, there’s a nice, clean, well-balanced combo of sweet honey-toast malt and orangey hops. Flavour follows the aroma pretty much exactly. Finish has a slight yeasty tang with medium-length linger of orange oil and resin. Not the most complex beer around, but that’s fine - it’s just a really nice quaff.

Bottle from brewery. Cloudy golden pour with a tight white head. The aroma is lightly resiny and quite orangey as well. A distinct toasted malt note that is more pronounced than is typical for this style. Nice balance of malt and hops although the aroma is a bit muted. Crackery/toasty malt and a nice long lingering bitter finish. It’s simple, but tasty.

341 ml clear bottle from brewery. Pours a somewhat hazy golden orange with small egg-shell head. Aroma is sweet biscuity malt and floral/grassy hops. Flavour is also nicely balanced between malts and hops with a modest bitterness in the finish. Very drinkable.

341 ml bottle fresh from the brewery - pours slightly hazy medium gold with a tight, billowy white head. This soon settles into a surface layer to protect the precious undergold nicely. Aroma is black tea, lemongrass, marijuana with a soft bready malt. Flavour balances out these pungent extremes with a honey-sweet, slightly toasty malt. Nice firm (but not overpowering) bitterness, and lovely soft mouthfeel. Lovely, balanced session ale. Certainly one of my favourite beers I’ve had from Amsterdam. Hope they do more of these experiments with different hop and malt varieties. Good Show!

Pour hazy golden white short lived head. Aroma stinky weed, lime, great grain sweetness, good hop aroma. Taste sweet grain balanced with floral/grassy bitterness outstandingly refreshing. MF medium body mild carb. Ridiculously good beer very refreshing and easy drinking. Well done.

2011-06-25. Lightly hazy golden body with a small white head. 3+ Sweet pale base malt, lightly toasty, lightly grainy. Mild bitterness throughout, mild biscuity notes and a yeasty character. Sweet aroma, doughy, lightly yeasty character over lightly toasty pale malt. 6+ Average bodied palate. Decent and fairly drinkable, the yeasty notes are bit strong for my liking. It reminds me somewhat of a cleaner more flavourful version their regular Blonde. Session Festival 2011, Toronto
