3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle: Poured an amber color ale with a relatively large foamy head with good retention and some light lacing. Aroma consists of citrusy hops with light floral notes and some sweet malt y notes. Taste is also dominated by some floral citrusy hops notes with a medium sweet malt backbone. Body is about average for style with good carbonation. Enjoyable but nothing to really write home about.

Tap at the ship, pours kind murky brown, aroma was piney and flavour was strong in the way of pine but it was really nice for the style and i really quite enjoyed this one

Cheers brah. Great aroma of fruit hop, gummy goodness in a bottle. Hazy copper pour with a frothy white head and clinging lace. Great flavour of hop, citrus with a syrupy texture.grapefruit bitter finish. Lovely beer.

2013-06-20. Dark orange body small beige head and lace. 3++
Aroma is pleasant, milder than expected. Moderate citrusy hops, light leafy touches. 7+ Flavour is pleasantly fruity citrus, lightly alcoholic, sweetish orange infused malt core, moderate bitterness throughout. Very smooth medium to full bodied palate, soft carbonation. Very nice, dangerously drinkable. On tap at Bryden’s, Toronto

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
At the brew pub. Brownish gold pour, thin foam tan head. Aroma is grapefruit, resin, slightly woody malt. Clean medium palette is full of grapefruit and orange rind. Bitterness and alcohol blend nicely with chewy sweetness. Long bitter finish. Very balanced and complex. Great IIPA.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
(Draught at Bryden’s, Toronto ON, June 21st 2013) Pours a deep clear copper with a bit of white head. Aroma is quite striking, like candied fruit (sugar but not really in the pale malt sense) - orange rind, dried mango. There is some pine and caramel behind, but this is a unique and punchy nose which only loses out by not being very complex. The flavour doesn’t quite mimic the nose, though the flavours - orange, tropical fruit, followed pine and other vegetation, caramel malts throughout and a moderately bitter (less than expected), drying alcohol finish, are cut from the same cloth. Body medium-full, carb moderate, alcohol fairly restrained. Good IIPA, not the best but quite enjoyable nonetheless with a strong sense of balance.

4.1 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle from the brewery. Pours a copper red color with just a hint of white head. Smell is really awesome and fairly strong. Sweet fruit like a pineapple and passion fruit plus a hint of trees. Palate is medium bodied with good carbonation. Taste is quite bitter at the beginning and end but a bit of a sweet interlude. Quite tasty, wish I had much more of this.

3.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Great big kick and body to match. Bitter but not ’fresh; like most IIPAs its more like an aged IIPA. Has some punch with bitter hops but light on the aroma and flavour. Balance is good and body fits the flavours very well.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Mainly pine, a bit of citrus, onion, sweet malt and a bit of alcohol on the nose. Not mind blowing but seems well balanced. Clear, dark copper color, quickly fading head. Taste is fairly soft, the quoted IBUs aren’t really coming through here. Medium bodied and low/medium carbonation. Sweet malt upfront, pine in the middle and a bit of alcohol and hop bitterness in the finish. Hop profile is quite different from the Boneshaker. A decent DIPA.

4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
355 ml bottle from brewery. Pours a clear orangey amber with modest-sized but lasting off-white head. Aroma just bursts out of the bottle after the top is removed with big juicy citrus and resiny hops, as well as a gentle caramel maltiness. Flavour is juicy grapefruity and mango hops, some resiny piney hops as well as doughy caramel malt in the background. Medium-full body. Dangerously easy-drinking for the ABV. A real winner.
