A golden amber DIPA with a thick lacing mocha head. In aroma, smooth caramel malt with faint fruity floral hops, a bit doughy. In mouth, a smooth biscuit malt with light sweet orange juice and floral hops, sweet honey grapefruit, nice.

Cask at Bar Volo. Floral hop aroma. Hazy coloured body. Above average mouthfeel. A good blend of malt and hops, aiding the palate. Above average DIPA.A sipper, still good drinkability for a 9% bitter beer.

330mL bottle, sent from wilco (thanks a lot, Mike), pours a hazy copper / golden with a small white head. Nose is super dank, with loads of herbal, pot-like hops, followed by some pine and resin. Flavour matches this pretty well, with loads of dank earthy, herbal hops, followed by secondary hop notes of pine and resin, and a sufficient dry woody bready malt backing. A strange one, with loads of pot and pine. There is also an unpleasant vegetal quality to this all. I’m surprised at the high ratings for this. It’s drinkable, but this isn’t so great.

Cask at The Only Cafe. Pale golden pour with a tight white head. The nose is bright and juicy. Loads of fresh pine and citrus along with some juicy/citrusy hops and a bit of tropical fruit. Rich and resiny with a lot of bright citrus and grapefruit. Resiny and juicy with some nice sticky malts. Goddamn - this is amazing.

2013-06-20. Dark orange body small beige head and lace. 3++ Aroma is pleasant, milder than expected. Moderate citrusy hops, light leafy touches. 7+ Flavour is pleasantly fruity citrus, lightly alcoholic, sweetish orange infused malt core, moderate bitterness throughout. Very smooth medium to full bodied palate, soft carbonation. Very nice, dangerously drinkable. On tap at Bryden’s, Toronto

Draught at Indie Alehouse. Pours a deep amber-gold with a small long-lasting creamy white head. Lots of lacing on the glass. Aroma is lovely, lots of citrusy hops, quite fruity, along with caramel malt. Fruity, hoppy flavour -- simple but oh so pleasant. Alcohol is well hidden. Medium bodied. Holy cow, this is great!! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

On draught at Bar Hop. Amber tinged gold, clear, solid creamy lasting beige head. So nice, that aroma - alcohol, juicy malt, tropical fruit, light resin, maybe a little oak tannin? Taste follows, juicy, mango and blood orange zest, alcohol, marigold overtones. Average body, quite astringent, light carbonation, a long dry, coating grapefruit finish. Bloody good, one of the best I have had in Ontario, big but restrained.

In short: An intense sweet and bitter orange IPA, borderline harsh.
How: Bottle 341ml, consumed fresh soon after receiving it from blankboy, thanks a lot Paul.
The look: Cloudy dark orange body topped by a medium white head with good retention and leaving lots of lacings on the glass.
In long: The hoppy nose of medium intensity is mostly citrusy with a character that is not fresh fruits, it is more like putting your nose in a bag of dried citrus fruits. In mouth the beer feels like thick foam, a big foamy body that doesn’t feel heavy. Taste has a strong kind-of-caramel sweetness very much reminiscent of a sponge-cake, like the inside of a Cadbury Crunchie™. Aggressive hop bitterness that adds bitter orange peels and pine-tree to the citrus fruits of the aroma. Alcohol is apparent. The aroma was misleading, this is a very intense beer, lots of sweetness, lots of bitterness, boozy bite, a good beer but a bit too harsh for what I like in a Double IPA nowadays, relatively low drinkability, a single bottle was enough. Nothing special about this beer, just me adding another rating on ratebeer, I’m on ratebeer again, ratebeer is like the fridge door I open but never quite remember why I opened it in the first place.
