3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Mainly pine, a bit of citrus, onion, sweet malt and a bit of alcohol on the nose. Not mind blowing but seems well balanced. Clear, dark copper color, quickly fading head. Taste is fairly soft, the quoted IBUs arenít really coming through here. Medium bodied and low/medium carbonation. Sweet malt upfront, pine in the middle and a bit of alcohol and hop bitterness in the finish. Hop profile is quite different from the Boneshaker. A decent DIPA.

[5559-20130629] 355mL bottle. Fruity grains aroma. Slightly hazy, brown orange body with a quick foamy off-white head. Slightly soured fruity grains flavour. Medium body. Good, would try again as this just seems a little old. (7/3/7/3/14) 3.4
[5604B-20130723] Bottle. Fresh leafy fruity hops aroma. Slightly hazy, bright red orange body with a long-lasting creamy off-white head. Bitter citrus pine flavour. Full body. Delicious. (8/4/8+/4/16) 4.0

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
330mL bottle, sent from wilco (thanks a lot, Mike), pours a hazy copper / golden with a small white head. Nose is super dank, with loads of herbal, pot-like hops, followed by some pine and resin. Flavour matches this pretty well, with loads of dank earthy, herbal hops, followed by secondary hop notes of pine and resin, and a sufficient dry woody bready malt backing. A strange one, with loads of pot and pine. There is also an unpleasant vegetal quality to this all. Iím surprised at the high ratings for this. Itís drinkable, but this isnít so great.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
On tap at the brewery - hoppy tasting flight. A deep copper gold. A good floral hop nose, medium bodied with a slightly sharp mouthfeel. The taste is bitter woodsy pine - kind of one dimensional. OK.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
In short: An intense sweet and bitter orange IPA, borderline harsh.
How: Bottle 341ml, consumed fresh soon after receiving it from blankboy, thanks a lot Paul.
The look: Cloudy dark orange body topped by a medium white head with good retention and leaving lots of lacings on the glass.
In long: The hoppy nose of medium intensity is mostly citrusy with a character that is not fresh fruits, it is more like putting your nose in a bag of dried citrus fruits. In mouth the beer feels like thick foam, a big foamy body that doesnít feel heavy. Taste has a strong kind-of-caramel sweetness very much reminiscent of a sponge-cake, like the inside of a Cadbury Crunchieô. Aggressive hop bitterness that adds bitter orange peels and pine-tree to the citrus fruits of the aroma. Alcohol is apparent. The aroma was misleading, this is a very intense beer, lots of sweetness, lots of bitterness, boozy bite, a good beer but a bit too harsh for what I like in a Double IPA nowadays, relatively low drinkability, a single bottle was enough. Nothing special about this beer, just me adding another rating on ratebeer, Iím on ratebeer again, ratebeer is like the fridge door I open but never quite remember why I opened it in the first place.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 10/20
Thanks to Sammy- The clean aroma of tropical fruit and citrus accompanied by hints of pine waft up from a clear dark amber pour with thin non-lasting off-white head. The palate is decidedly hoppy. Pine with hints of tropical fruit terminating in a rewarding bitter resin finish. Overall, although it may be from Canada, it sure helpedcompensate for the heat on a very hot Texas evening.

3.9 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Intense gold pour and solid body with frothy lacy small cap. Very piney and juicy in the expected aroma and taste, with a definite build of hop dryness on the palate. Some creamy oak impressions. Cat pee cannabis. A bit sharp for the hopheads without going ridiculous, good.

3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
On tap at the Amsterdam Brewhouse, on the Toronto waterfront. Golden amber with a tight cream head; sweet fruity aroma; syrupy texture with a pleasnt grainy body and a herbal bitterness; the finish is long and saitsfying with some warmth.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle from the brewery. Pours a mostly clear deep copper with a two finger off white head that laces well. Nose is candied fruit with grass and pine. Nice sweet malt base with apricot and grapefruit for a good level of bitterness. Mouth is medium slick with a long bitter finish. Nice but I think I still prefer the regular Boneshaker.
