3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Mainly pine, a bit of citrus, onion, sweet malt and a bit of alcohol on the nose. Not mind blowing but seems well balanced. Clear, dark copper color, quickly fading head. Taste is fairly soft, the quoted IBUs aren’t really coming through here. Medium bodied and low/medium carbonation. Sweet malt upfront, pine in the middle and a bit of alcohol and hop bitterness in the finish. Hop profile is quite different from the Boneshaker. A decent DIPA.

3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Tap, Amsterdam brew house, Toronto, Canada. Pale amber, citrus resin aroma. Sweet, caramel, then a pine resin flavour. Not overpowering especially for the ABV, then a long caramel pine finish.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle. Clear amber pour with a thin white head. Aroma is sweet, light citrus. Flavour is malty, fairly bitter but sweet malt as well, some citrus zest and caramel, slightly nutty. Good, but not great for the style.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
ENG: 355ml bottle from Liquor Mart in Winnipeg, poured into the Teku glass. Orange-copper, opalescent color with medium but dissipating, tan head. Aromas of grapefruit and other citrus, a bit tropical. Tastes piney, grapefruity, a bit tarty finish. Resiny-tarty, long-lasting bitter aftertaste. Medium carbonation, medium body. Overall a quite decent beer, maybe a bit too resiny in the finish, but that might be a signature of this beer. Nice aromas.
PL: Butelka 355ml kupiona w Liquor Mart w Winnipeg, przelana do Teku. Barwa miedziano-pomarańczowa, opalizująca, piana jasna, średnia lecz opadająca. Aromaty grejfruta i innych cytrusów, nieco tropikalne.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours a nice burnt orange. Very strong resin aromas. Meat, wet dog. This one is all about the hops. Very bitter. Citrus, resin. Oily texture. It’s like drinking concentrated hop syrup. A bit too bitter and unbalanced for me.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Light copper body, quite clear, off-white head and nice lacing. Citrusy hop aroma. Taste is semi-bitter, quite resinous, a bitter finish, rhubarb (a touch of tartness), and a touch of breadiness and fruit. Nice double IPA.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle from the brewery. Clear and bright amber-gold with a small but persistent white head. Deep, dank aroma of hops - orange marmalade and forest floor - luscious! Flavour is big and brash, but balanced as well, with enough caramel malt (with an interesting hint of marzipan) to stand up to the sharp pine and grapefruit hops that come on strong and linger for ages. The finish is pleasantly warm, with a hint of black currant. Excellent.

The smell of apricot is crazy, as my non-beer geek friend Chris exclaimed. Gold amber dense but short head. Pine apricots big in the nose. Taste similarly with a little perfume and a touch of resin. Little bitter in the aftertaste. Touch sweet. Damn good.

4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
A rich amber colour, with a frothy white head which maintains good retention. Aromas are a nice blend of citrus and piney hops, but definitely leaning more towards the citrus side of the fence. Tastes are very much of citrus hops, with some sweet malts producing a creamy center on the tongue in the middle of the draw. Some pine bitterness on the swallow.
I’ve been pursuing this beer ("Sorry we’re all out") for years, but it was definitely worth the wait, as I found it at The Brother’s Beer Bistro. I’d say this one challenges Boneshaker, for Amsterdam’s IPA crown.
