3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle courtesy of Jercraigs and Mabel. Deep ruddy pour with a thin white head. The nose is soft and funky with a sort of fruit skin character. Bright raspberry and pepper with a touch of light raspberry seed character. A bit of tartness. A hint of lemon and some lingering tartness. Pretty nice. There is a sort of light yeastiness on the back. Interesting stuff.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
In short: A bright and mildly tart raspberry beer with a bit of funk and a bit of plastic. Good.
How: Bottle shared by Camping Brewdown 2012.
The look: Cloudy rusty-red body topped by a bubbly off-white head.
In long: Nose is raspberry jam, a bit of funk and phenolic/plastic notes. Taste is a foamy raspberry dessert (like some kind of raspberry soufflé), a typical mild-medium raspberry tartness, a tiny bit of funk, unfortunate light plastic notes. Overall very bright and crisp. A good beer that would have been excellent if it wasn’t for the light plastic notes I just couldn’t shake off. The last beer I rated at Camping Brewdown, at that point I was getting so drunk that I was looking at a woman at the party and though “I’d bang that” even though I’m married to her.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
[4517-20120617] Tap. Raspberry soap aroma has a light leafy green note. Slightly hazy, dark amber red body with a long-lasting creamy off-white head. Light and raspberry fruity flavour has just a hint of tartness in the finish. Medium body. Quite tasty and drinkable. (7/4-/8/4/15) 3.8

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
UPDATED: NOV 26, 2012 2012-11-16. Hazy dark red-amber body, small foamy beige head 3+ Aroma is pretty funky, fruit, raspberry/cherry like fruit, hints at wood. 7+ Flavour is interesting, fruity, sour cherry like notes, tart and tangy, lightly sour, mild wood notes. 7++ Very smooth average bodied palate. Very refreshing, very nice. VERY different from the last time I tried it, more sour and less bretty than it was on tap, less prominently raspberry character to the fruit. Good stuff! 7/4/7/3/17 - 3.9 Bottle from the brewery via Murdoch
2012-06-17. Hazy red-brown body, large foamy beige head and lace. 3+ Aroma is pretty interesting, lots of barnyardy funk and musty undertones, very light woody tones bring to mind the old wooden beams of a winery storehouse. Modest funk, fruity raspberry, and notes of raspberry seeds in the second wave. The flavour is similar, and the first few sips are quite funky, but become a bit less so as the glass goes on. Moderate sourness/tartness Very soft woody undertones. Sweetish raspberry and raspberry sees in the background and in the finish. 7++ Very smooth average plus bodied palate is fairly softly carbonated after an adventurous pour. The funk and mouthfeel actually combine in a way that you almost feel like you should be drinking this from a ceramic crock on the back 40 at the brewers farm. Really interesting, I alternate between wanting a bit more of the fruity raspberry to come through and simply revelling in the funk. Good stuff, I went back for a second glass. 8/4/7/4/16 - 3.9 On tap at Brewers Market event, Toronto
