4.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20 chainman (104) - Ontario, CANADA - AUG 10, 2007
341ml Bottle - Pours Kool-Aid red (hmm), with a decent frothy head - better than I was expecting, actually. Aroma is all sugar and raspberry, which is enticing. Mouthfeel is substantial...the taste is immediately raspberry, and a very clean taste at that. A bit of malts on the lower end of the palate, but the fruit dominates this one. Sharp tartness in the finish covers the high alc/vol perfectly. Powerful taste, but not overpowering. As most people say, it’s not something I could have a lot of, but for a seasonal, this is a real treat. Another winner from Amsterdam! I would definitely recommend this to the adventurous beer drinker. Thanks to the Amsterdam fellow who passed the sample bottle on to me - you guys are great!
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 hopdog (7652) - Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA - AUG 9, 2007
341ml bottle acquired in trade with radiomgb (thanks!). Poured a darker reddish color with a brown tinge to it and a smaller sized pinkish head. Aromas of sweet and tart raspberries. I like the way the aroma is. Tastes of sweet raspberries and other berries. Light tart finish. Syrupy body. Not that bad for a fruit beer.

bottle. this was the first fruit beer ive tried. poured dark purple/red/brown (which kinda scared me) with no head and little carbonation. aromas are almost entirely raspberry with a faint trace of malt. flavours are only of raspberries, no hint that this has any alcohol let alone 6.5%. non-existant finish. very refreshing and nice for a change but not something id drink everyday.
3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 StompBrockmore (316) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - JUL 5, 2007
341ml bottle - pours deep red/auburn with a very quickly dissipating pink head. Looks like juice after a while, with no head at lacing whatsoever. Smells like tart raspberries and some nutty malt in the background. Tastes...just like raspberries. It’s nice, but I don’t think of beer when I drink this. Not cloying, not overly sweet, obviously not artificial - all pluses. Finishes with some sourness and a slight bitterness. Quite dry. After taste of malt, but faint. Certainly no raspberry lambic, but decent overall, even if not something I’d regularly want to drink.

[342-20070617] 341mL (w/ tuqueboy). Raspberry malt aroma. Clear, amber brown body with a medium-lasting foamy white head. Tastes like raspberry juice. Medium body is smooth. Very nice tasty fruit!

On tap at volo. Deep red colour with small head. Taste and aroma of raspberries. Very carbonated, almost like a raspberry pop. goes down easy on a hot day. not bad for what it is
2.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20 Gedge (7) - Toronto, CANADA - JUN 13, 2007 does not count
Deep, red colour. Pours with a soapy head. Pretty carbonated and tastes more of the tartness of raspberries than actual raspberries. This is from the 2007 batch in clear bottles.
2.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 beanmedic (347) - Hamilton, Ontario, CANADA - JUN 9, 2007
just not right. apparently it is made with real raspberries, but i find the KLB raspberry beer to taste better. i can taste the raspberries but it just doesnt work for me. colour is an amazing deep red. artificial feeling carbonation kills it though.
