Brewed with unmalted wheat and aged on Canadian raspberries with an intense fruit flavor and brilliant ruby red color.

I tried this beer on August 1, 2008 at "Smokeless Joe’s" in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The beer poured a deep semi-translucent red with a thick pink head. The aroma was raspberry with a malt hint. The mouthfeel was medium bodied, and highly carbonated. The flavour was sour raspberry, and a little grainy malt.

Too thin and tart for me. Certainly the essence of framboise is here, but it doesnít save this bummer of a fruit beer (a style I normally enjoy). No cloudiness.

Rich cherry in colour, thin off-white coloured head, light lacing. The aroma is very sweet, lots of raspberries, quite jam like. The flavour is again very sweet, incredible amounts of raspberries, syrup, jam, some tartness. Sweet mouthfeel, medium/light body, medium carbonation. Finishes with a long a strong raspberry sweetness. This is very sweet throughout, becoming too much at times.

341ml bottle from the LCBO in Peterborough, Ontario for $11.96 for the 4-pack.
Purchased on June 16, 2007 and opened on November 8, 2007.
No date.

Bottle received from Matt7215 in trade. Iím not sure if it is due to the shipping, but this beer was almost over-carbonated and had a very large head, which settled soon after pouring. Dark red/orange/brown with a pink head, I was expecting something more red in color. Aroma is not quite accurate for the taste. This beer is bitter and almost sour, yet the smell is sweet, honey and raspberry tones. The beer is quite tart and unfortunately I was expecting something sweeter. For the style, it is good, but not something I would suggest to drink on its own. Sweet food (like chocolate) would bring out the sweetness in this beer.

341 ml bottle in 4-pack from LCBO, served almost cold in a tulip glass.

App.: DARK PINK subdued by orange and brown tones, fairly decent pink-tan head, clear. Aroma: Very honest raspberry aroma Ė to me it smells more like the raw fruit than a jam or a juice or an imitation; I dug for something else and failed. Raspberries. Thatís it, thatís all. Palate: Medium body, effervescence that fills the mouth and stings the tongue. Flav.: Messy; starts as raspberry cough syrup, then gets a little more real; there are some faint malts hiding in the background and some nasty medicinal note; touches of organic acids; quite sweet but also sufficiently tart and bitter to avoid being cloying; a bit of alcohol shows at the end; messy.

No thanks. I just donít think that fruit and beer belong together. At least not in this mess.

Pretty clear red color - weak head. Raspberry taste. It is sour a little sweet - it really works. My only issue is it tastes a little of yeast. The carbonation really tingles the mouth. Overall very good stuff.

341ml clear bottle from trade with matt7215. Thank you sir, I was wanting this one for a long time. A thin light pink head sits on top of a raspberry (surprise)red body. There is some suspended particles, but beer is fairly bright. Aroma is big with ripe sweet raspberries, a slight sourness from berries also present in the background. Carbonation is quick and prickly, hits the tounge right away, though this isnít necessarily a bad thing in this case. The spritziness seems to work well with the flavours at hand - fairly dry with light raspberry fruit with just a trace of tartness. The finish is pretty quick and dry. No signs of the 6.5% ABV. Good effort, but upping the tartness/acidity in this beer would make this a real winner.

Bottle at Volo. Ruby coloured pour with a foamy white head. Smells of real raspberries. Tastes of real raspberries. Surprisingly nice and refreshing, but definitely one for the summer months.

Definate berry scent mixed with weak hps. Plumb coloured pour. Weak and watery taste with a bitter aftertaste. Really nothing much there. All of the berry is in the nose not the mouth. Suprising lack of Alcohol taste.

341ml bottle, 6.5% a/v My brother tried this beer and said he really didnt like it, im curious to see what I will think. *Opens bottle and pours* Pours dark red, almost red wine colour. Lightly carbonated with a thin pink head. Nose is of raspberry, some dark malt. The taste is interesting, an obvious raspberry hit , some malt notes and a bitter floral dry finish. Make that a VERY dry finish. Very nice beer, one of the least sweet framboise Iíve tried, which I think is a good thing. Nice beer.
