2.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
Candy sweet raspberry that is appealing. Mouthfeel of candy soda, not much else in it. If you like something else than classy pilsner try this one.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Dark almost clear ruby body with a tiny white head. Aroma is powerful candyish raspberry skins, too candyish and unidimensional to be particularly appealing. Still it's an original beer, definitely worth a try if you're into fruit beer. Restrained sourness with some kind of branches woodiness marrying watery raspberry syrup.

3.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Draught. Sampled at BeerBistro - 2005 GTA Golden Tap Awards. Nice! Poured a bright ruby-red with a huge foamy pink head - didnít make me think "mmmm - beer!" Aroma was back to childhood - exactly like still-warm homemade raspberry jam (somewhat tart, not too much sugar, made with very ripe fresh-picked berries) spread on oven-fresh bread - in other words tart, ripe berries and bready yeast - some alcohol in there too. Taste was as the aroma - starts juicy sweet and finishes tart - you donít doubt this is made with real berries/juice! Acidic and slightly sticky mouthfeel. Very nice, I must stop dissing Amsterdam (at least all of their beers, the Irish "Stout" still sucks)

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle: Pink infused caramel, moderate frothy light pink head, shoddy lacing.   Raspberry seed nose, slightly artificial.   Spritzy in the mouth, very carbonated, with a dry bitter artifical raspberry seed like flavor.   *BURP*   Reminds me of the Unibroue Framboise but with a little more flavor, and a bit drier.   Moderate body, very spritzy mouthfeel.   Finishes with a tart raspberry seed like bitterness.   Not bad, but seems too fake to really enjoy.   Thanks jerc for the bottle!

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Draught at 2005 Golden Tap Awards at BeerBistro. Pours a clear dark ruby with a large diminishing frothy pink head. Pink head?! Thatís a first for me. Nice aroma of caramel malt and raspberries. Flavour is the same as the aroma but is a tad too sweet for me, but thatís a personal preference as this beer is very well made and enjoyable. Quite possibly the best beer Amsterdam makes.

[342-20070617] 341mL (w/ tuqueboy). Raspberry malt aroma. Clear, amber brown body with a medium-lasting foamy white head. Tastes like raspberry juice. Medium body is smooth. Very nice tasty fruit!

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Draught @ Only. Deep garnet, close to being opaque, little tan head, some lacing. Fresh raspberry and soda-like aromas but not too sweet. Thin, light mouthfeel. Finishes slightly tart and dry. Refreshin bevvie. Not complex but also thankfully, not too sweet.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 15/20
Tart, strong natural raspberry aroma. Deep red body with huge red-tinged head that recedes slowly leaving the glass coated in bubbly lace. That is really very enticing. Raspberry, and wheat malt in the flavour. A great combination, itís like a raspberry pie. Sweet and tart paly together nicely making this a truly enjoyable after dinner treat. Surprisingly considering the wheat flavour, the body is somewhat thin and would be the only thing Iíd change on this one. Very enjoyable, flirts with greatness. Bottle (opaque white swingtop). Thanks CapFlu.

3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Deep red, huge creamy billowy head, good lacing. Awesome tart fresh red raspberry nose with maybe just a touch of caramel. Very tart flavor, not a lot of sweetness at all, with a vinegary texture that is interesting but not necessarily all that appealing. Very clean, lightly sour finish. Definitley interesting, closer to a lambic flavor-wise than most N American fruit beers, but not as drinkable as I'd hoped. Still well worth a try for fruit-beer lovers.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 15/20
750ml ceramic bottle bought at the LCBO. Cork open with a huge pop, poured a medium pink beer with a super huge head with excellent retention. Carbonation is just perfect and aroma is great with what I can tell are real raspberry. Taste is not too sweet but still very refreshing with just enough tart. Limited hops but then that is to be expected of a fruit beer. This is a truly great fruit beer but the alcohol is just a bit too strong too make it truly great. Very good beer to enjoy during summertime.
