3.8 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Gift from Guillaume and Kyle! Thanks guys! Served in a chalice. Pours a cloudy orange with a tall white head that dissipates quickly. Aroma: Sour cherries, peach, raisins. Very nice. Palate: Thick bodied, slightly tart and very very dry finish. Taste: strong alcohol taste. One of the better combinations of beer-in-wine-barrels that I’ve had.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle. Pours light golden yellow with a white head. Nice and funky, with some light oaky notes, peach-like fruity notes, medium tartness, and a nice dry tart finish. Restrained barrel presence is what makes this one great. Loved it.

Sampled this at Campground Brewdown 2. Pours a clear gold with a thin white head. Soft funky musk on the nose. Soft acid, funky musk. A bit of funk and some charred barrel notes on the finish.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Very pale golden pour. The nose is softly tart. Lactic with a bit of soft funk. A bit of light fruitiness and some cherry/apple fruit. A light restrained wheatiness along with a vineous sort of tart fruit. Pretty awesome stuff.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
2013-06-22. Warmer temperature may have helped, as the fruit chracter comes out more, and the oak is just a touch less prominent than previous samples. +1 or 2 overall. Session Festival 2013
2013-06-18. Lightly hazy pastel/golden yellow body with a small white head that fades. Aroma of dry woody oak to start, vinous fruit, muted malt. Flavour has a good amount of oak up front which I don’t love but it fades enough as you go to let the pleasant fruity, lightly sour second wave come through. Dry lightly tannic oak character in the finish, vinous fruit blends intriguingly with vanilla tannins in the finish. Not particularly funky? Smooth average plus bodied bodied palate, soft moderate carbonation. Suits the beer well. 3+ Very interesting, the subtleties of the vinous fruit are lovely but the mild overall character means that the relatively moderate oak character is more prominent than it would be in a more boldly flavoured beer. The oak fades a bit the more quickly I drink it, giving just a touch more sourness as well. 7/3/7/3/15-16 On tap at Bryden’s, Toronto

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
On tap at Emmet Ray’s tap takeover. Tangy tart, a nice drinking ale. Belgian pale is basic and does not intrude. Pale coloured, no head. Nicely carbonated. 10% well hidden.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle from jercraigs. Dark amber with an off white head that fades to nothing. Pours with lots of carbonation and sizzle, definite oak and chardonnay nose, vodka, light brett, peach pits and a bit of vanilla. Moderate carbonation although that first sip or two are quite high, moderate body, bit of funk, lots of chardonnay, bubbly, semi sweet, slightly buttery on the finish and a nice dryness at the end. Probably one of the more Chardonnay forward beers I have had - worth trying if you can find a bottle.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
(Draught at Bryden’s, Toronto ON, June 18th 2013) Pours a hazy medium gold with a think white bubbly head, no lace. Aroma has a sour bretty character up front, a vinous/tree fruit acidity and a fair bit of oaky barrel/vanilla character, just a little pale malt behind. Flavour isn’t as sharply sour as the first smell might suggest. There is a bit of acidity at the start along with a little bit of brett funk and fairly dry pale malt along with a fair bit of carb. By mid-palate the barrel starts to take over, with the acid core of a dry lighter fruity white wine. An oaked one, as the buttery wood comes in at the end and the beer finishes dry with just a little barnyard funk lingering. Alcohol heat is evident from the middle of the sip on. This is quite a white wine-like beer really, restrained in both sourness and funk. It’s good, but I think it could be a bit more complex and finish more strongly.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle [650ml]. Pours a cloudy copper-gold with an average size frothy diminishing white head. Aroma of wine, fruit, wood, vanilla, Brett, light hops and more, lots going on here. Flavour of fruit and yeast along with lots of the barrel coming through -- wood, wine, vanilla -- along with light grassy hops and light herbs. Alcohol is well hidden. Well carbonated. Slightly syrupy mouthfeel. Medium bodied. Interesting and really good, I really liked it.
