Not bad. Tastes different than Heineken. It’s more like the common green-bottled beers like Steinlager, Peroni, and Staropramen.

Cant go wrong at 2 bucks for a 6 pack. Very similar to Becks or Heineken, so try this aa a cheaper alternative if you like those. This should not be in the "American Standard" category, it definitely has an imported European flavor to it.

UPDATED: JAN 31, 2006 Tastes like those german beers. I don’t know if it was rancid or what, but gave me the same impression than other german beers that taste the same.

I thought, Oh great, just what the world needs: another Dutch beer in a green bottle. I was surprised. Not a bad little lager at all. Smooth. Not too skunky. I’ll drink it over Heineken.

Amsterdam was definentely a good buy...lighter on the palate and the digestional system...good marketing, overall good for the price.

Clean, fresh, floral and spicy hop nose with sweet underlying malt character. Clear golden body is topped by a pillowy, white head that lasts well and laces the glass. Fairly pronounced bitterness offsets the sweet malts with some floral and spicy notes. Light body with refreshing strong carbonation. Nothing offensive about this one but the flavour is kind of bland despite surprisingly present hops. Snifter. Fridge temperature. Can (Rahman, Dec-05).

Sold very cheaply here. Strong on the hops, but dies very quickly. Easy drinking, but the bitterness predominates too quickly. Inoffensive, but nothing special.

Sweet malty/fruity aroma - bit rubbery. Hint of skunk but not unpleasant. Dark golden yellow clear with small off-white head that dissipated quickly. Very light carb, almost flat. Light watery body. Decent sweetness and had hoppy tang. Vapory alcohol. Taste reminded me of grainy German bread - a bit sour but lots of grain. Grainy oat/rye finish. Nutty smooth finish and after. Not too bad overall.
