I started out thinking that this beer was OK. The sweet, slightly fruity aroma and treacly sweet flavor white-wash the high ABV pretty well. As it warmed from well chilled, however, it began to taste more and more chemically until the last few sips bore a striking resemblance to paint thinner.

Oct 11, 2008 this is a common practice of malt liqour with lots of alcohol and no style or substance, its taste of pure raw alcohol wiht some corn, medium malt build and no hops. taste smooth though.

Oct 4, 2008 Can: Clear golden colour, with a thin white head. Aroma of lots of malts, sweet, grassy, erthy, and a mix of citrus and alcy nose in the end. Flavor has a malty/alcy/sugar mouth feeling. Borring beer. Not for me this one.

Sep 29, 2008 #1700. The much-feared and long-avoided, date-expired tin Octo fetched me from Paris, of all places. Heavy amber. Coarse froth subsiding to a halo. Stingingly sweet stench of almond, scorched white sugar, pastry, (chemical) cherry liqueur, felt tip, burning rubber, imaginary peach....just nauseating, punch-in-the-face spiritous alcohol, really. Rubber glove marinaded in butterscotch flavour. I’d drink it at gunpoint. Warms but doesn’t burn. COMPLEX.
