Natural Blonde is a creamy gold lager with noticable malt flavor and a hint of hop nose.

Not a great-looking beer, which is additionally off-putting due to the marketing wizards at Amsterdam bottling in clear glass. The two-dimensional sweet/grainy aroma is well fleshed out, with sweet represented by hits of confectionery sugar and honey, and the grain showcased with offerings of cereal and boiled white rice. The watery palate lacks texture, but the flavours are well balanced, continuing where the nose left off, plus some hop-bitterness and a woody aftertaste. Fairly good length for a light-coloured lager. In the world of beer, a blond sure isn’t eye-candy, but she can still be pretty hot once you get her out of her clothes.

UPDATED: MAR 11, 2013 2013-02-28. Crisp dark yellow, nice white head. 3+ aroma of sweet pale malt has a lightly yeasty quality to it, mild fruity floral accents. Flavour is fairly sweet overall, pale malt, lightly fruity doughy yeasty character. 6+ Smooth average plus bodied palate. 3+ less yeasty than I recall. A little crisper and cleaner overall. Bit sweeter than my preference but decent. 6/3/6/3/13+ On tap at the Red Lantern, Toronto

2003-XX-XX. Crystal clear yellow, big fluffy head disappeared quickly. Some nice florally hops in the aroma, nice bitterness. A nice thirst quencher. 5/2/5/3/10

Goes down easy. A bit on the light side but might be good on a hot day. Somewhat unremarkable.

Light, floral. Clear beer with good head. Hint of malt and slight ever so subtle hoppiness. My wifes favourite.

Bright yellow w/ white fluffy head. Light nose: some grass & perhaps sweet fruit. Light body. Flavour is mildly malty & slightly bitter. A very quaffable brew. Quite good for what it is . . . for what it is.

A new bar around the corner opened with this on tap, it has a nice and light flavour to it. One wouldn’t think that it would be coming from Toronto

I had a good experience with this brew. Smooth. I would have it again if it were given to me.

Slightly hazy yellow appearance. Hints of pineapple and tropical fruit in the aroma. Pineapple carries into the body, with touches of various other fruit, roasted hoppy notes (goldings in think). Smooth. Okay, not really my thing.

maybe at one point this was a blonde ale, but now even the label says natural blonde lager. average standard lager. pretty boring.

UPDATED: JUL 30, 2006 Bottle sample at LCBO Summerhill OCB Festival. My previous rating for this was just a rant about how it’s not as good as it used to be, so I thought I’d take the opportunity of a free sample from a (presumably) fresh bottle to give it a proper rating. Pours an OK looking bright yellow-gold with the hend you’d expect from a couple of ounce sample - i.e. not very much. Aroma isn’t too bad - some sweet, biscuity malt and a hint of grassy hops in the finish. Flavour is soft and inoffensive, clean malt and mild hops. It’s still not fantastic, but it’s better than I made it out to be in my previous rating.
