1.7 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 6/20 Derek881 (726) - Frederick, USA - SEP 18, 2011
Poured from a tall can purchased in France into a tall glass. The beer had a clear, light amber-gold color with a very small white head that had short retention and no cling. The aroma was mild and watery with slight notes of grainy hops and straw, with a bit of grass. It tasted strongly sour and bitter with a grainy and grassy effect and a strong presence of alcohol. It was wet with very little carbonation and little mouthfeel or effect.
1.5 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 5/20 EchoShine (13) - Athens, GREECE - MAY 15, 2012
Looks aren’t deadly here. Its sweet. I managed to drink 2 500ml cans in the picture. Wasn’t an easy task.
I did get heat in the throat and nose. Wiskey sour meets a sour white Greek wine. Strong alcohol on the nose and palate. I usually enjoy strong lagers and ales. Be careful ....... jet fuel (especially after 2 and I can hold my own).
I have 7 more that I will be returning to ’supermarket’ ... even if it was half off. Wow! Nice Can!
2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 Metalchopz (1427) - Quebec, CANADA - APR 4, 2012
Originally rated April 2005. This malt liquor pours a golden colour with slight amber and a decent head that leaves a fluffy lace all around. The nose is a bit of cinnamon with heavy alcohol and corn. The taste is still heavy on the alcohol, but the aftertaste is smooth, yet bitter in the back. No real burn... thank God. Feeling it in the head already, probably wake up with killer headache. This one is called "Navigator of Holland" here in Canada. The rest of the can looks the same as the Amsterdam Navigator. Good drunken material....

Amber yellow, white drooping foam and living crackling. Nose of malt, sugar, tobacco. Taste malted, very sweetened, rich and heavy. Round with notes of cream, white chocolate, doped with caramel. Dull and disgusting, lack nuances, finale with sugar, discreet hop, alcohol.

500ml can labeled as Navigator of Holland but listed as 8.4%ABV pours a pale straw color with a creamy white head that settles slowly but does not stick to side of glass. Aroma is grainy with a hint of fruit. Taste is big malty sweetness with a bit of hoppy bitterness which does not balance out the sweetness. Not a great beer by any means, but certainly not the worst beer I have had either.
