UPDATED: OCT 29, 2007 Dark reddish color, malty aroma, somewhat bitter and dry taste. Average brew.

pours brown with beige head. some roasty aromas. more roastiness in the malt with a little chocolate and nuts. fairly dry, hoppy finish. one of amsterdam’s better beers.

Not too impressive. It is a dry ale with some subdued roastiness. There are bette nut browns in ontario - black oak makes a good one.

Brown colour, slightly toasty but more chocolaty in the flavour. This one just didn’t excite me all that much.

Brown colour, nice head, good lace. Sweet, light roasted, hint of coffee. Very nice sitting on the small brewery terrace.

Hoppy, Yeast scent. Ruby colour, foamy toffee head. Coffee-ish, with some bitterness. Has some bite, a bit dry, smokey too. Very good.

I LOVE this stuff. Get’s flat quickly and I’m sure it’s better straight from the keg. I’ll get some fresh when I pass through TO to make sure.

UPDATED: JUN 16, 2006 Are you kidding me? This is a great beer, commonly found on tap in T.O. A great warm, toasted flavour that genuinely stands out. Also great consistency, body and balance. Far superior to the Blonde ale.

I drank too much of this and wretched on the first day of school in a urinal. So I don’t have great memories, I remember it being a little too sweet and relatively mild bodied.
