Pours a slightly hazy brown with a brief head and a slightly sweet malt aroma. Light malty taste, crisp and nutty with a light generic bitterness and no real aftertaste. Very smooth, blended, balanced taste, but a bit on the bland side. Undercarbonated, watery. Quaffable, well-executed, but lacking in character. Thankfully not sickly sweet like so many browns.

I’m proud to call this one Canadian. nutty and chocolatey aroma. Dark brown, with that deep red glare help up to the light. strong nutty flavour (It’s called Nut Brown after all). Goes down well expecially when hangin a couple buddies. Definitely buying this one again.

Thanks to rsamayoa. Bottle. Drank it at El Flor. Pours dark brown almost black color. Medium bodied, nice start, very porter like with noticeable smokiness. Short finish, dry at the end, some whiskey character.

RateBeerians Tasting - Beach Brews. Bottle: Great looking bottle and beer, aroma starts off as a porter and finishes as a whiskey. Taste is complex, woody, smokey porter-like, ends a bit flat.

Very sweet aroma has plenty of caramel and chocolate. Clear but so dark brown it’s almost black. Head is fizzy, tan and short-lived but recedes to a lasting ring around the edge of the glass. Lightly sweet and nutty flavour with some grassy hop character and a bit of dark malt in the aftertaste. Very dry medium body with sharp, prickly but short lived carbonation. Tulip glass. Just above fridge temperature. Bottle (LCBO at Lynden Park Mall in Brantford, May-08).

On tap at Riley’s. The best offering I have had from Amsterdam. Aroma was a bit faint and dominant in brown sugar. Flavour was nutty with brown sugar and a wheaty taste. Not a bad brew.

Bottle bought at Summerhill LCBO in Ontario. Very nutty. Very. A ton of hops give this a nutty bitterness, but it doesn’t linger. Nicely done, though too dry for me.

Bottle: Poured a deep clear brown color ale with a medium size foamy head with average retention and minimal lacing. Aroma of nutty caramel malt is quite intense and enjoyable. Taste is also dominated by this medium sweet nutty caramel taste. Body is average with some spritzy carbonation which doesn’t fir very well. While I don’t need a full hops assault on my brown ale I would appreciate at least some hops inclusion which I can’t say is the case here.
