3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 MrManning (1945) - London, - JUN 27, 2011
Cloudy orange with a modest foamy cap. Appealing aroma of orange juice, spices, wheat malts, candy. Overall sweet orangey flavour profile with some very mild hop bitterness and acidity. A bit pithy. Medium body with creamy carbonation, and a genuine orangey finish. this is a good summer sipper.

Bottle, cloudy gold with a lingering soft white head. Spices and subtle orange zest hit the nose. Pretty straightforward on the palate, clean crisp with very little linger.

May 10 2012. 500ml bottle. Bright cloudy yellow pour with 1 inch white head that produces spotty lacing. Aroma is wheat a lot of yeast on nose and hints of corriander, not much orange. Flavour has some orange but no citrus peel mouthfeel at all and some spicy grains. Yeast gives a dry finish to the palate. They suggest serving with orange slice and that would probably add a lot to this otherwise mediocre beer. Drank easy and forgotten just as quickly.

A nice belgian white with a zest of orange. Wasn’t expecting much, but was pleasantly surprised. Beautiful hazy colour with frothy white head. Light malt, orange (without being too intrusive). Would have it again.

(bottle) cloudy pale gold with small white head; floral aroma, faint watery flavour, simple, mediocre. Only good quality is that it is refreshing.

Bouteille 500 ml. 5%. Couleur beige, jaune, mousse blanche. Arôme de levures et agrumes. En bouche, coriandre, agrumes, un peu d’orange et levure belge. Correct mais je m’attendais à plus d’orange.

Bottle: Poured a hazy light yellow color ale with a nice size purer white foamy head with good retention and light lacing. Aroma of coriander and light orange peel notes is quite nice. Taste is also a nice mix between light coriander notes with some notes of wheat and light refreshing notes of orange peel. Body is quite full for style with good carbonation. Well brewed with more spices then I was expecting; maybe missing a fuller body.

500mL lickbow bottle. Bright orange pour with haze that I had to work for the as the yeast was pretty well settled at the bottom of the glass. Small spotty white head. Aroma is your standard wheat, yeast, corriander, not much else. Flavour has a lot of sweet orange flavour but no citrus rind, all the dryness comes from the yeast. Finish has a bit yeast to it and it fizzles out. Surprised by the moderate carbonation for the style, which at least I appreciate as sometimes wits and hefe’s make me feel like swallowed a balloon. I do not detect any anise despite the advertising, and frankly I wouldn’t want anise in a wit anyways. Very mediocre offering IMO.

500 ml bottle. Toronto, ON.
Hazy oranje colour with small to average sized white head.
Yeast, wheat and some spices in aroma.
Flavour is yeast, wheat, coriander and spices.
Bottle says Flemish style white beer but the name is Weisse.
Well it’s not quite Witbier like more like Weizen.
