3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Thanks to HogTownHarry. Appearance: pitch black, small brown head. Aroma: roasty, quite hoppy, pine, cocoa, malt, raisins. Flavour: Hoppy! Nicely pine hopped with herbs, chocolate, cocoa, long lingering leafy hops. Quite nice. When Amsterdam does it right, they do it right.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
500 ml bottle from brewery’s retail store. Pours a very dark, opaque brown/black with moderate-sized beige head. Aroma of green, piney hops and some roasty dark malts. Flavour is big on the green, piney hops with a little citrus and a solid roasty malt base that gives off some mild cocoa. Lingering bitterness in finish. Excellent.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
youve got to give it to a low ranking brewery when they finally do something proper. well, at least half proper. hopefully this kind of brew becomes a trend for these bastards. aroma slightly sweet, low cask carb, final leave is a kind of cop-out amsterdam bitter. ya, actually, on that note there really isnt much bitterness for an ipa...

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Cask at Volo Deep brown-black pour with a tight tan head. The aroma is quite rich and hoppy. Lots of bitter cocoa over a resiny, piny bitterness. A fairly pronounced clean roastiness and a bit of malt sweetness through the middle. Assertive bitterness and a fairly rich palate. Lingering earthy bitterness. Lingering cocoa and resiny bitterness. Low citrus hop character - maybe columbus dominant? Either way, a tasty brew.

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Fairly dense brown-black with espresso crema head. Assertive smells of roast and herbal hops plus a curious light sourness then some citrus hops. coffee and chocolate. Taste is roast and boldly hoppy in good balance, showing herbal/funky hop resin and some fresh lemon peel and grapefruit pith. Dark tart-sweet fruit, some chocolate and hints of coffee lead into a long, solidly bitter finish that keeps the palate dry. Another fine one-off / brewery store / 500ml bottle.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
2011-11-25. Very dark brown black small beige head. 3+ Interesting first sip, green leafy hops, fairly bitter, over sweet dark malt base that has mild chocolate under currents. Green hops re-emerge in the finish to blend intriguingly with the chocolate character 7+ Smooth average plus to medium bodied palate. 4 Aroma has a similar green hop and malt melange to it. Very light herbal/herbaceous accents. 7+ Really unique, super interesting. On tap at Amsterdam Movember Event, Toronto
