shintriad (663), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Feb 22, 2007 Bottle, blind tasting @ C’est. I was rather impressed with this beer. A bit vineous up front with hints of cherry, woody, toasty and caramel flavours with a somewhat smoky finish. A bit of that signature metallic Amsterdam profile and harsh carbonation, but it’s tempered by the sugary malts and high alcohol. Not bad at all.
Sanchex (218), Brampton, Ontario, Canada Apr 26, 2007 For a full flavoured, full bodied beer, it is very drinkable. Nice clean finish leaves you wanting another sip. Deep ruby colour with very little head. Not much aroma, slight sweet malt/metallic. Nice earthy caramally flavour. Very smooth. Cheers! gilvanblight (338), Windsor, Ontario, Canada Apr 15, 2007 Very dark pour of a deep red. Weak scent (though was in a crowded pup) A bit of spice and malts. Bitter rush immediately on the tongue that fades fast. Either boozy or spicy on the tongue, leave a bit of a burn. A touch of earth malts in the finish. A very good ’local’ draft. Nekronos (1851), Xalapa, Mexico Apr 13, 2007 Good but too strong, alcoholic feautres and veyr nice foam. BUt the colour was a little strange like pink or something. robinvboyer (980), Sturgeon Falls, Ontario, Canada Apr 3, 2007 on tap at Cafe Volo
dark red/amber color. right off the bat, I can smell the alcohol, with a touch of caramel, and malt. flavour is rich, and malty, with some caramel in there. A nice offering, one of their better beers for sure. mabel (1583), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Feb 28, 2007 [181-20070106] 341mL. Medium leathery aroma with light grassy straw, plastic and noticeable alcohol. Clear, deep ruby red body with a few random bubbles and a quick light brown foamy head. Flavour has medium meaty quality with something earthy and a light bitter background in the aftertaste. Medium-full body, a bit astringent. Lovely colour and togetherness, repeatable.
