[3738-20110514] Cask. Cheddar cheese biscuit aroma has a hint of new shoe soles. Slightly hazy, amber orange body with a quick foamy white head. Roasted orange peel hops flavour has a lingering toasted grains note. Medium body is fairly flat. Average, nice to sample. (6/2/6/3/13-) 3.0

Cask at Volo, "3rd Annual Ontario Cask IPA Challenge". Pours a slightly hazy deep orange with a small diminishing white head. Mild aroma of hops, sweet malt and citrus fruit -- kind of meh. Somewhat watery flavour of sweet caramel malt, some citrus fruit and light hops. Average bodied. Dry, light bitter finish. Just O.K.

3rd annual Ontario Cask IPA Challenge tasted blind. Sweet malt aroma with some toffee and light fruit. A bit of caramel and some other sweet fruity esters. Lightly bitter with some soft lingering fruit. Tasty.

2011-05-14. Lightly hazy orange amber body, small white head. Surprisingly sweet flavour, muddled citrus, bit of orange/tangerine, very mild bitterness throughout. Sweet sort of creamy malt. Dryish finish with lightly yeasty influence. 6+ Aroma is lightly earthy, mild green hop character. Very muted citrus touches. Average plus palate is nice but flat. Might be better on tap. Just okay, it has the right elements but doesn’t quite elevate itself to the next level. Volo Cask IPA Challenge
