2.5 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
On tap at Amundsen. Pitch black colour with a medium big light brown head. The aroma lives up to the name of the beer. Sour notes with some sweet notes as well as chilli. Soapy. Flavour is weak coffee, chocolate, soap and some boiled vegetables. Medium long aftertaste.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
250ml, tap at the brewpub. Dark as pitch, brownish rings to the rim of the surface. Good lacework. Dark chocolate malts joined by anise to the nose. Balanced taste of dark chocolate malts and tart berries supported by subdued dark spicy notes. Tart and sweet to the ending. Well made, tasty brew (Oslo, 10.12.2012).

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Big brown head. Opaque black body. Roasty caramel pudding aroma
with toffee and vanilla notes as well as traces of soy sauce.
Fairly vivid and clear. Dry-sweet spicy cinnamon and vanilla
taste with roasty chocolatey notes. Mid-bodied. Hot, sharp
mouthfeel, probably from spice. Dryish spicy peppery cinnamon
aftertaste with burnt chocolatey earthy notes. Quite nice, but
perhaps a bit on the hot side. (0.25l draft at brewpub.)

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
On tap at Amundsen. Pours pitch black with a small creamy tanned head. Aroma of moderate roasted malts, cocoa, raisins and liquorice. Taste is almost spoiled by butterscotch, weak but noticeable, some ashy notes, light roasted and some intense burnt, dry end with a bite of chilli.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
330 ml draught. Pitch black with an off-white head. Aroma is of roasted black malts. Irish stout at first, but richer. There are more things happening here, but it’s hard to tell as the beer was served rather cold. Beer got more intense towards the bottom of the glass, and the last sip was very intense with a strong bite from chilies.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Rich fruity aroma, pitch dark, fluffy head.
Silky smooth. Grain, brown toast, nice chili sting. If all mistakes turned out as good as this....

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Sampled @Amundsen, Oslo. A dense yellow-brown head, upon a black body with mahogny edges. Initial aroma of chocolate malts and rum&raisin, offset by a whiff of mild chili. Taste is bittersweet and well roasted. Coffe ground and dark chocolate. A light sour tone and a clean bitterness. Subtle chili tones troughout. Medium full. Chalky in the mouth. Chili, roast and lingering bitterness in the finish. Good stuff. [28.11.12]
