Draft at the brewery in Oslo. Gorgeous pour, lightly hazed with a rigid fine bubbled soft head and beautiful cascading carbonation. Strange malt aroma is rough and husky and grainy. Fruity peach and melon and apricot hop aromas are nice, though more enjoyable with a gulp of soft carbonation - meaning it’s much more hop forward and fruity in the mouth than in the nose. Creamy, fruity, some resin, quite pithy and almost astringent but the soft carbonation and malt saves it. Quiet beer.

Glouglouburp (5929) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - OCT 24, 2012
In short: A basic, toasted, dry-ish and slightly caramelized citrusy/lemony pale ale. Unremarkable, easy to drink, ok
How: Tap at brewpub
The look: Clear orange-golden body topped by a small off-white head
In long: Nose is citrusy and floral hops. Taste is clean, toasted cereals, a bit of caramel. Well hopped with grapfruity hops that also have a strong citric component that adds a lemony acidity to the bitterness. Finish is quite dry which suits this beer nicely. A refreshing pale ale, nothing remarkable but nothing to complain about, and sadly the best beer I had from this brewpub. Nothing special here, just a rating I’m adding to ratebeer just so that some of the people who beermail me can know that I’m ignoring them.

On tap at Amundsen. It poured a pale yellow-brown-orange liquid with a creamy dirty white head. Hops, grass and a light fruity note on the nose. Similar taste with a light bitterness. OK pale ale.

7/3/14 On cask at the brewpub: Opalescent yellow ale with a fine white head. Aroma gentle floral hops, citrusy. Taste a zingy grapefruit citrus, might have expected some bitter but mild on that. A nice benign refreshing ale.

Fra fat på Amundsen: en lettdrikkelig og forfriskende pale ale med moderat og tiltalende furunålspreget bitterhet. Ingen stor kompleksitet men lett å drikke og lett å like.

Very pale gold color, mostly citrus aroma. Rough bitter taste, bitter finish pine and maybe a hint of lemon. Passable.
