3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 larsga (5324) - Oslo, - JUN 13, 2012Small white head. Hazy yellow body. Tropical fruit and kiwi aroma with mealy alcoholic notes. Dry-sweet resiny tropical fruit taste with mealy strawy notes. Mid-bodied. Sharpish mouthfeel. Dry resiny mango aftertaste with salty earthy notes. Nice, but a bit dense, salty, and sharp. (0.4l draft at brewpub.)
2.3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20 Glouglouburp (5545) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - OCT 24, 2012
In short: A problematic (phenolic, perfumy) Double IPA. A bad keg probably
How: Tap at brewpub
The look: Cloudy glowing dark amber body topped by a large white-ish head with goo retention and leaving lots of lacings on the glass. Good looking beer.
In long: Nose is very scented/floral, borderline perfumy. Taste is excessively phenolic. Other than feeling like you’re chewing on hospital gloves, there is also a good amount of sweetness, crunchy cereals with residual sugars, floral hops, fruity/citrusy hops with flavor of orange flesh, notes of rubbing alcohol, annoying notes of perfume. Assertive bitterness. Phenolic after-taste. Something was wrong with this keg, impossible that this overwhelming amount of phenols wouldn’t throw off anybody. Too bad because I think the actual beer wasn’t all that bad. That phenolic plastic flavor made the beer flavors feel as artificial and fake as when I smile and say hi to the office cleaning lady.
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 ClubGonzo (2689) - Bergen, NORWAY - OCT 10, 2012
On tap @ Amundsen, Oslo. Hazy pale orange body, small white head. Aroma is herbs, syrupy malt tones, hints of pine and resin. Taste is bitter herbal hop tones, caramel, hints of resin and peaches. OK, but lacks dimensional depth and is far from great.
3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 14/20 Rune (6120) - Tromsø, NORWAY - AUG 29, 2012
250ml from tap at the brewpub. Creamy, off-white head blanketing the glass. Unclear dark apricot coloured body. Red oranges to the nose added by a spicy touch. Fine blend of red citrus fruits and caramel malts. Long-bitter tail, semi-dry. Hidden alcohol. Full bodied. Sits right (Oslo, 05.08.2012).
3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Frovigalning (2024) - Örebro, SWEDEN - AUG 25, 2012
On tap at Amundsen. It poured a hazy golden liquid with a light brown note, dirty white head. Hops on the nose, some cat pee. Strong bitterness that lasts a long time. Some grassy hops and pine in the background. The bitterness took over to much, I wonder if this had gone old?
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 daje (1289) - NORWAY - AUG 19, 2012

Hazy light amber, big beige head.
Fruity citrus aroma, malty. Taste is sweet with caramel, lots of fruit, high bitterness.
3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Gr0ve (2038) - Oslo, NORWAY - AUG 15, 2012
400 ml draught at Amundsen. Cloudy amber colour. Creamy off-white head that clings to the glass. Floral hoppy nose with quite a bit of bread and caramel. Bready chewy flavours. Medium-bodied. Smooth texture. The malts are soft and loaded with caramel, but the hops cut through most of it. Papery thick finish with a slight burning hop sensation. Decent, but could have been even better with a little more lagering/filtering.
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 OleR (4247) - Oslo, NORWAY - AUG 8, 2012
Sampler @Amundsen. Thanks Geoffrey! Hazed deep gold to pale amber. Low blond top. Sweet bready and grainy malts, earthy and fruity hops to the nose. Mid-bodied, juicy texture. Substantially bitter. Quite sharp, and more earthy and spicy than fruity. Nice bready malt character. Oily bitterness in the ending. A straightforward, hop driven DIPA.

On tap at the brewpub.
Hazy light brown.
Malty, light palate, the herbal hops creep in, minty. Bittersweet finish. Nice, but it fails to excite.
4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20 Furseth (1866) - Kungälv, SWEDEN - JUL 11, 2012
Draft at the brewery: 10/7-2012: Red hazy colour, with a nice big creamy head. Aroma was dominated of lots of citrus, sweet maltynes, and a bit brown sugar and caramelly. flavor had almost the same here, nice fruitynes, and balanced sweet maltynes. Big body and a nice long fruity/bitter finish. Well done!!
