2.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
Cask at The Argyll Hotel, Ullapool. It pours clear copper, with a medium white head. The nose is light caramel sweetness, wood, leather and a faint hint of raisin. The taste is dry leather, wood, lemon soap, light smoke and digestive biscuit, with a dry finish. Light-medium body and soft carbonation. Not a bad beer, but pretty boring to be honest.

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Tasted this in the Three Judges in April 2005. Cask, handpump dispense. Clear copper red in colour with a thin white head. Slight smokey roast malt in the short aroma. Thin mouthfeel and poor lacing. Pale malt gives a digestive base with a touch of raisin fruit. Roast malt gives a wood smoke quality in the aftertaste with the dry hop resins. Finish is bitter sweet. An ok session ale but nothing exceptional here.
