Golden-brown, smells like all kinds of diacetyl. Tastes like toffee, toast, diacetyl and burnt electrics. A bit of a mess.

On cask at the Standing Order. Appearance - toffee brown with a nice head. Nose - toffee and cream. Taste - toffee apple and a dry maltiness. Palate - medium bodied with a tangy texture and a dry but slightly astringent finish. Overall - solid but no cigar.

@ the frigate Ullapool. Favourite of the An Teallach beers tasted. A good bitter

Scopey (6812) - Croydon, Greater London, ENGLAND - AUG 23, 2012
Cask at The Argyll Hotel, Ullapool. It pours clear copper, with a medium white head. The nose is light caramel sweetness, wood, leather and a faint hint of raisin. The taste is dry leather, wood, lemon soap, light smoke and digestive biscuit, with a dry finish. Light-medium body and soft carbonation. Not a bad beer, but pretty boring to be honest.

Cask by handpump at Halfway House, Edinburgh (27 Mar 12) - malty aroma, clear copper ale, thin off-white head, very malty, too bitter to be refreshing, prolonged bitter finish and bitter aftertaste

Bottled. A brown beer with a whitish bubbly head. A fruity and hoppy beer. Soapy notes. Good fruity flavours. Good sweet malts too. Pretty nice all round.

Tasted this in the Three Judges in April 2005. Cask, handpump dispense. Clear copper red in colour with a thin white head. Slight smokey roast malt in the short aroma. Thin mouthfeel and poor lacing. Pale malt gives a digestive base with a touch of raisin fruit. Roast malt gives a wood smoke quality in the aftertaste with the dry hop resins. Finish is bitter sweet. An ok session ale but nothing exceptional here.
