2.6 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20 chriso (7063) - London, - OCT 10, 2004
Standard copper colour. The aroma has undeveloped malt and soggy grass. Improves in the mouth to the palatable, with a reasonable balance of malt and hop, but still not too distinguished. Soft finish. Overall, not very impressive. Don't know whether that's down to the beer or the condition. Cask (gravity dispense), St Albans beer Festival 2004.

Cask @ 3 Judges. Dark golden colour, off-white head. Aroma is caramel and ester. Flavour of toasted malts and caramel. Initially dry, followed by a sour finish. Not too impressed.

Cask@St Albans. Raw malt, porridgey. Felt like they brewers hadn’t quite finished brewing it. There wasn’t a lot going on.

Gravity, at the St. Albans Beer Festival, 2004
Bright amber coloured body, fine bright white head. Wet hay, with feral herbal aromas throughout. Flavour bitter and tart like red lettuce. I’d like to say ’farmyard’ mess of a beer but that would be misusing the term farmyard.

Cask conditioned - gravity dispense - St Albans Beer Festival. I guess Joe and I will have to disagree! I thought this was a quite nice reddy amber beer with some pomegranite fruit in the aroma, and some spices and sticky bitterness in the taste.

Cask Conditioned @ the Saturday session, St Albans Beer Festival 2004. Beer #14. This was apparently the special liquid produced when they clean out the brewing equipment. Deeply disgusting beer that tasted like sucking on a leaf.
