Smells of hops but more like a pale ale. The flavor also seems like a pale ale until the very dry finish. Decent enough.

3.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 socaltay (204) - Ventura, California, USA - OCT 2, 2011
Beer was not cold enough when put in the growler. I gave them the benefit of the doubt and brought it home and used my beer refrigerator to get it down to proper temp. I thought the aroma had a slight bitterness from the hops but contained more malts than I expected. The appearance is very typical of an IPA. I enjoyed the taste. It has a good malt backbone and it ended up being much better than I anticipated. Service on the other hand is normally great, so I was let down today. Especially considering I go here often.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 grant (842) - Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA - SEP 2, 2009
Brownish copper color, substantial foamy head. Very fresh hoppy aroma, peachy and citrusy, moderate malt with a little bit of a yeasty or stale grain aspect to it. Flavor is lightly sweet malt and perfumey hops. Sharp, tingly hoppy finish, a little bit of clovey yeastiness exudes.
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 CaptainCougar (7093) - Columbia, Maryland, USA - JUN 19, 2009
On tap at the brewpub: Pours a transparent copper amber with a full-lacing coating of light beige head. Aroma of fresh resiny grapefruity hops and a light caramel malty character. Starts with good fullness and floral piny hops with a decent toasty malty balance before a slightly warming bittersweet finish. A pretty assertive and enjoyable IPA.

Draught at the brewery. Deep amber with a creamy beige head. Hoppy, piney nose with a but of bread-crust. Quite bitter and piney, with a bit of bready malt thrown in. Medium, smooth body. Not bad, but straight pine bitterness never sits right with me.
