COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Great aroma from the use of imported Maris Otter malt with a warm copper color from the addition of 80L Crystal malt. Bittered with Simcoe hops and finished with Fuggles for a traditional English character.

Draught @ Rockfish Grill. Pours a clear amber color with a samll off-white head. Has a slightly roasted malty caramel aroma with some hoppy hints. Roasted malty caramel flavor with some earthy hints. Has a malty bitter hoppy finish.

On tap at the brewpub. Pours clear amber with a creamy, lacy white head. Light body and carbonation. I found the taste to be a bit vacant, which is sort of an anomaly, compared to the other offering from this brewer. Earth and a touch of butterscotch on the finish.

Copper body with mid sized off white head. Aroma was grassy with some pine and citrus. Flavour is hoppy upfront with a touch of earth malts. Finishes dry and with a little bitter bite.

on tap-pours an off white head and copper/red color. Aroma is faint malt, fruit. Taste is medium malt, fruit, earthy hops-some bitter. OK effervescence.

Draft at the brewpub. Cloudy dark amber with a thin white film. Very light nose, maybe some biscuit there. Tingly carb, medium body. Toasty, leafy (dry) mid-palate, with a nice resinous hop cling of a finish.

Hazy reddish-amber colour. Big dry hop nose. Lots of pine and grapefruit. Clean, grapefruit-forward character with hints of chewy caramel, earth and moss. Very American, but quite tasty. The only misgiving I have is that despite the solid malt character, the body seems a little bit thin.

On tap at the brewpub. Hazy, cloudy beer, thin white head. Aroma is fairly fruity, thin malty character. Hopping is way too low for this style. No hop aroma. Flavour is quite fruity, apple/berry, a bit yeasty. Lingering sweetish fruity finish.

On Tap at Rockfish Dark redish brown with only a very small head and only traces of lacing. Deep fairly robust malts with woody notes and hopped enough for a nice balance. Fairly full body and a nice lingering bitter bite.

Draught at the brewery
Murky dark burgundy and rusty color. Very strong hops, wood, brown sugar and toasted whole wheat bread flavors. Very sharp and flavorful ESB. Roasty, sweet and sharp wood in the nose, with some hoppy oranges and overall a very hefty body.

Cask at the brewery. Opaque brown, fruity aroma, pleasant mouth feel, nicely hopped, with a thin malty character which did not interfere with the bitterness. Balanced so exquisitly that my chardonnay drinking spouse finished her pint and expressed a desire to return to England. No higher praise.
