Pint @ Rock Fish. Practically perfect representation of a porter. Beautiful coffee bean aroma with a subdued roasty body. This should be drank in great quantities (over long periods of time).

A draft pour at the brewpub this showed up a dark mahogany with tan head and light lacing. Nose of roasted malts and floral hops. Medium body and smooth mouthfeel. Flavor shows chocolate and the finish is lightly bitter. True to style and easy drinking.

On tap at the brewpub/restaurant pouring up deep dark mahogany with garnet edges and thin tan head. The aroma is very mild and vaguely speaks to dark roasted malts and really nothing else. The taste brings up a modest level of highly roasted malts, some black licorice and a touch of chocolate malts. Nice balanced roasty porter.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 BlackDonald (1127) - Boise, Idaho, USA - JUL 17, 2008
Pours a nice dark brown color with a small off white head. Roasty nose with some coffee and chocolate notes, the hops add a nice bitterness on the palate, this is not a bad porter, I am more impressed with it the more I drink it.
