Our hoppy blonde Citra Star is loaded with the grapefruit, lemon and lime but is light bodied enough to keep you coming back for more. Highly hopped with a big, bitter finish. Available in cask, keg and bottle.

On draught, Durham Beer Festival 2012. Very cloudy, however it is worth noting that most of the beers I tried at this festival had clarity issues, Excellent citrus aroma and flavour, does exactly what it says on the tin. Long lasting aftertase of lemon and bitter apple. A seasoned beer enthusiast drinks with thier mouth and nose, not their eyes. Full marks, barring the appearance.

UPDATED: SEP 13, 2016 330 ml bottle from Wanstead Tap. Pours hazy pale golden with foamy, lasting white head. Hoppy aroma of citrus and honey. Taste follows, citrus, grapefruit and a hint of honey. Low bitterness, medium carbonation, short finish. A bit empty in my opinion. Decent refreshing beer.

Pint at the Newcastle Arms, Newcastle. Cool, white mousse of a head with a clear bright yellow body. Citrus and cat pee aroma: similar flavour with grapefruit and spruce to the fore. Nicely astringent finish. Made to quaff, not to puzzle over.

Tap @ The Bull, Tampere, 25/07/16. Pours a hazy yellow with a good, white head. Aroma is lime, citrus, slight passion fruit. Taste is plenty fruity, of the tropical kind. Lime, passion fruit, some conifer, more spruce-like than the usual birch. Light with good carbonation.

Bottle from Abbots AleHouse. Clear, pale gold pour. Citrus hop aroma with some sweetness. Not too bitter for the style and good depth of citrus. Very smooth.

(Keg at Angleterre, 20160718) The beer poured golden and clear. Its head was medium sized and white. Aroma had fruitiness and citricness. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were fruitiness, citricness, tangerine, malts and bitterness. Aftertaste was citric and bitter. A good and very citric pale ale.

Cask at The Earl Grey Inn, Leek. A clear golden colour with a medium white head. Aroma of grapefruit, melon, lemon, slight lime and some floral hops. Taste of grapefruit, grape, lemon, some passion fruit, slight lime, subtle straw and floral hops. Medium bodied and soft carbonation. A bittersweet, fruity, floral hop bitterness in the finish. Heavily hopped with Citra resulting in a bittersweet flavour. Good but not the best single hopped Citra beer I’ve had.
