Draft @ Craft Beer Co, Clerkenwell EC1. Pours a black color with a small tan head. Has a roasted malty coffee and chocolate aroma. Roasted malty coffee and bitter chocolate flavor. Has a roasted malty coffee finish.

Cask at Craft Islington. It pours near black with a medium beige head. The nose is rich roast, toast, light smoke, coffee and milk chocolate, The taste is roasty, toast, ash, cocoa, bitter-sweet, coffee, aniseed, decent bitterness and a touch of alcohol. Medium body and fine carbonation. Tasty, flavoursome and very drinkable. A great stout and one of Anarchy’s best.

Keg in CBC Islington. Opaque very dark brown with a medium to large off white foamy creamy head. Nose is lots of rich black caffitere coffee, coffee grounds, lactic, some English ale fruity notes, lots of bitter roasted malt. Taste as above with a bitter ground coffee finish.

Craft Islington. Cask. Clear deep red - brown beer, good pale tan head. Palate is smooth and a litte dry. Decent fine carbonation. Mellow dark malts, quite light but still imparting decent mellow coffee. Touches of lactose and red berry fruits. Comes together well with all flavours in good balance. Finishes smooth. A really tasty and easy drinking light stout.

Bottle from Ales by Mail. Pours black with a big creamy tanned head. Aroma of roasted malt, vanilla and coffee. Smooth & creamy mouthfeel. Taste is a good mix of coffee and chocolate, delicious balanced, lingering roasty aftertaste. Very good.

Bottle from Bier Huis, Ossett. Mahogany colour. Thin, coffee coloured head. Aroma is Pontefract cakes, ripe vine fruit. Roast coffee beans, caramel and a hint of vanilla. Just enough chew to the body. Long dry, but fruity finish. Lovely beer.

Draft at The Lady Grey, Newcastle on 26 July 2013. Poured a dark brown, pretty much oily black with a dense light brown head. Aromas of dark chocolate, coffee and brown sugars. Big roasted malt flavours with prunes and fruit cake. Ends with a mix of some sweet vanilla and bitter coffee.
