Winner of ’Best Stout in Europe’ at the World Beer Awards 2015. Our dark, voluptuous breakfast stout is infused with Ethiopian Guji natural coffee beans from Stafford based coffee roaster Hasbean. Velvety and viscous, it is balanced delicately with New Zealand hops. Available in cask. keg and bottle.

330ml Bottle from Coppers, Gosforth, £2.09. Pours ruby black with bubbly but creamy, dark tan head. There’s dairy, caramel and light smoke in the nose with leads into a very rich flavour with coffee, dark chocolate and obvious, but not overbearing smoke, as well as dairy cream as promised by the aroma. It doesn’t taste its full 7%, although booziness comes through more in the finish, with the lingering sense reminiscent of a liquer coffee. Very enjoyable, complex stout.

Looks nice. Black-ish with a fine beige head. Lovely lacing. Ehhh oh my goodness. Impossible to drink all of this stuff. Vinous, yeast and dried fruits. Homebrew that have gone wrong. Deeply wrong actually. Horror.

From a bottle, pours with a tan head, coffee and chocolate aroma, spicy notes on the tongue, with quite a creamy mouthfeel.

16.08.2015, 0,33l bottle @ Brewpub le Sec, Barcelona:
Nice slightly bubbly-creamy longlasting head. Aroma is slightly dry roasted, dark malts, grass, mild coffee, licorice, dark sugar, hints of vanilla. Taste is slightly dry sour-ish roasted, dark malts, grass, hops, mild coffee, roasted grain, toast, pine needles, licorice. Medium to longlasting bitterness, dry mouthfeel. Nice.

Gravity at The Holy Inadequate, Etruria. A black colour with a thin tan head. Aroma of roasted malts, freshly brewed coffee and some milk chocolate. Taste is similar of roasted malts, freshly brewed coffee, some chocolate, slight brown sugar and subtle vanilla. Medium bodied and soft carbonation. A dry, roasted coffee bitterness in the finish. A lovely roasted coffee stout with delicious sweet, vanilla tones to it. Doesn’t taste its strength, even though it’s 7% and from a cask.

2/3rds Keg pint in Harrys bar Newcastle, while waiting for a bus. Served cold, whereas cool would have been better. Pitch black with a light tan head. Treacle toffee and coffee aroma. The same flavours, complimented by rich vanilla and a little burnt sugar. Bitter-sweet finish. Rather delicious, I lingered and let two buses go past.
