A quaffable, well-balanced red ale with character. Its malty complexity and coppery color come from a combination of two caramel malts, pale malt, and a hint of maple syrup.

A red ale like no other is right. Very unique. Shifts between caramel malts, citrusy hops, bread to bitter. All with a light note of maple. Very subtle in the aroma, more in the aftertaste than anywhere else. Really cool brew, both session able and insanely complex. Started good, and got better as it warmed."

I don’t really get much of the maple syrup, but this is a pretty good amber nonetheless. Really quite hoppy considering the expectations from the style.

Bottle. Pours orange with red hues and white head. Aroma is very spruce, earthy, malt forward, bready. Taste is very earthy, bitter backbone but yet has a slight sweetness to balance it out. A very unique brew. Okay.

Red brown color. Caramel and roasted malts. Taste is nutty with a touch of maple syrup and caramel. Pretty easy to drink. Not a bad football watching game.

Bottle from Village Wine and Spirits. Nice roasty malt nose, raisins and very light prune. Pretty reddish-copper color, thick rocky head. Sharp caramel, light spicy hops, finish is a bit harsh but not unpleasant. Medium body. Rich flavors, but I don’t really get the maple. This has the signature Anchor flavor profile.

Bottle. Malty hoppy nose - nutty, fragrant, northern brewer hops and some other spicey notes. Big flavor for an amber - pleasantly bittersweet, good layered flavors of caramel malt. Finishes with floral bitter hoppiness. Very good.
