COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A quaffable, well-balanced red ale with character. Its malty complexity and coppery color come from a combination of two caramel malts, pale malt, and a hint of maple syrup.

Bottle into pint glass, cloudy coppery-amber color with tan head. Aroma of caramel malt, faint maple and slightly fruity. Taste adds notes of stronger citrus/pine hops, toast with toffee/maple showing up near the finish. Medium body, low carbonation, dry with lingering light citrus/hop finish. Hoppier then aroma led on, subtle maple accents rather then leads. Very nice treat.

12 oz. bottle from The Hop Yard, Raleigh, NC. Reddish-orange pour with a frothy off-white head. Aroma of pine, pineapple, and caramel malt. Taste offers juicy citrus upfront, with some bitterness on the back end, and finally maple syrup to round it all out. The end result gives just a hint of autumn warmth to a fantastic amber ale.

Salmoniform (835) - Sweet Home, Oregon, USA - OCT 11, 2014
Poured from bottle to glass. Crystal clear copper hue with fizzy white head that dissipated. Aroma is caramel, toffee, maple, slight sulphur. Mouthfeel is great with a light body and crisp carbonation. Taste is dry with a slight bitter following and a hint of sulphur in the finish. Overall this is an enjoyable brew.

Poured from bottle into a pint glass Appearance – The beer pours a lightly hazed copper-amber color with a one finger of fizzy white colored head. The head has a decent level of retention, slowly fading to leave a moderate level of lace on the sides of the glass. Smell – The aroma of the beer is biggest of a sweet caramel and lightly toasted malt smell. Along with these smells come aromas of a maple syrup smell as well as some notes of a more piney and grassy hop nature. Taste – The taste begins with a slightly bready and lightly roasted taste with a moderate showing of a hop flavor of a more pine like nature. The hop is much heavier upfront then I would have anticipated from the nose, with it being accompanied by a bit of the caramel sweetness that was present in the nose. As the taste advances so too do the sweeter and the hoppy flavors of the brew, all while the bready and malt flavors remain largely constant. The increase in hop is a mix of more grapefruit as well as some flavors of pine and herb while the addition of sweet is a mix of caramel and maple syrup. In the end with the increase in sweet and the hop increase as well, one is left with a rather nicely and surprisingly hopped sweeter red ale flavor to linger on the tongue. Mouthfeel – The body of the beer is on the average to slightly thicker side with a carbonation level that is on the lower side. For the style and the only 6 % abv. the feel is rather nice, balancing quite well the sweeter, hoppy and malty flavors of the brew and making for an easy drinking feel overall. Overall – This was a nice, rather sweeter, but very pleasantly hopped red ale. This one is rather enjoyable overall.

Must have had a bad line as this beer was super sweet for a red almost to the point of undrinkable. Will try again and relate if its any better.

Where is the maple? Not a hint of it in my beer! It was malty and delicious, however WHERE IS THE MAPLE! Please don’t lie to me because I’ll eventually find out...and I did! I would buy this again, because it was a good tasting beer. It has a weird dry finish to it.

Bottle, bbe 08/2015. Interesting fruit toffee aroma. Tastes first little fruity then becomes sharp bitter. Finishes with toasty notes. Interesting beer but sharp bitterness is almost overwhelming.
