355ml bottle from Valhalla’s Goat. Red orange brown, not much head. Sweet creamy fruity maple syrup aroma. Citrus fruit, caramel & bubblegum flavour. Getting the hint of maple syrup. Bitter aftertaste. Quite light and complex.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
On draft at Black Dragon in Sac. It pours a clear amber color with an off white head. The aroma has the typical menthol, minty hop thing that all Anchor beers do with some nice red fruit and touches of maple syrup. The flavor is more fruity with a little bread and not much syrup to speak of. It has an earthy, bitter finish. Tastes like Autumn. I’ll take this over most pumpkin ales.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle. Pours copper, thin head. Sweet caramel aroma. Flavor is malty with some maple hints, and fruit. The finish is surprising bitter but also sweet. I know, it doesn’t make sense but the bitterness really sticks around. Not bad on a fall evening.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle. Poured a clear dark copper color with an average frothy off-white head that was mostly lasting and had excellent lacing. Good sweet malt aroma. Medium to abundant body with smooth texture and soft carbonation. Moderate balanced smooth sweet flavor with a medium sweet finish of moderate duration. Good brew.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle sampled at a tasting event. From notes. Pine and citrus with a large caramel and maple dose. Pretty good, but nothing I would seek out again.

3.7 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Anchor BigLeaf Maple Autumn Red has a lot to like, but maybe not for the reasons you would expect. The decent tan head sitting atop a reddish-brown pour reveals a fantastic aroma of sweet fruitiness (probably from the Citra hops.) The initial taste is a hop bomb that masks the subtle maple flavors you might be expecting. There is some sweetness mixed with malt on the swallow but the maple flavors never completely shine through. BigLeaf Maple is a decent beer experience, but expect more in common with an IPA than an amber ale.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
12 oz bottle shared by Tmoney99. Pours a clear amber color with a small white head. The aroma and flavor have toasted malts, caramel, mild hops, moderate bitterness, more character than the standard amber.

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle from Drinkmonger. Bright orange body with a thick off-white head. Light carbonation. Excellent lacing. Aroma of honey, lemon cake, stewed tea and wood. Well balanced flavour - sharp lime, caramel, maple syrup and pine. Gorgeous, subtle and earthy. Medium body with a very oily mouthfeel. Soft carbonation. What a fantastic beer.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Keg. Slightly hazy red amber with a thinnish white fuzz. Red berry nose with raspberries, blackcurrants and honey. Taste is like an alcoholic Ribena. There's a slight banana in the finish, but mostly astringent and bitter berries -rasp, black, Logan... A decent drink with an interesting flavour. Very fresh!

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours a dark amber with a medium fluffy off white head, good lacing and head retention. Aroma is citrus earthy hops and fruity upfront with some caramel malt, yeast and sweet maple notes. Taste starts off with citrus earthy hops bitterness, slowly mellows out with a sweet caramel malt and maple flavor on the ending. Palate is a medium body, smooth with good carbonation, mild sticky mouth feel.. The finish is a combination of earthy pine hops and sweet malt and maple flavor on the end for balance, ending has a lingering hops and maple flavor. Overall a tasty fall treat and enjoyable brew.
