3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
The aroma is hoppy and malty with no detectable maple syrup. The appearance is amber with a nice head. The taste is like the aroma with maybe a touch of syrup at the end. The palate is smooth. Overall a quality beer that is very drinkable but is more like an IPA than a maple beer. This needs more maple syrup.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle at home. Clear copper pour, thick rocky white head. Aroma of ripe fruits, caramel, maple syrup, some tangerine and a bit grassy. Flavor is bitter with grassy hops, thick fruity malts and well balanced with a decent body. Decent brew.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Perfect for the first weekend of winter. Pours a hazy amber-copper with golden highlights and a thick, rocky beige head that settles slowly and leaves some clumpy lace. Nose involves sweet candy syrup, some spicy and herbal hops, and a dash of maple. Pretty sweet, but fairly bitter to balance. Medium bodied, lower carb, a bit syrupy, somewhat grainy, slick and oily, with a lengthy caramelly and leafy bitter finish. Either it’s completely appropriately named, or there’s some serious power of suggestion involved. A very nice brew that was well-suited to a couple months ago, but has held up well as winter begins. Another enjoyable offering from Anchor.

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
Best before 10/2015
Dark amber with generous head. Simple aroma, some paper and some vanilla. Dry mouthfeel, dry caramel flavor, traces of biscuity malts, strong bitterness; the final bitterness is a bit too vegetable (chicory-like).
And this is pretty much about it.

Flaska från Systembolaget. Andra ölen jag provat från Anchor. Citrus och hö är det första jag tänker på.

Advent beer #19: 12oz bottle - Nose is the stuff you dig out of your gutters before winter comes. Sip adds caramel and grassy hops. Out of nowhere, I got a syrupy sensation.
