A quaffable, well-balanced red ale with character. Its malty complexity and coppery color come from a combination of two caramel malts, pale malt, and a hint of maple syrup.

Sweet caramel in smell. Hint of maple syrup, but maybe I made that up. Bitter aftertaste with sweet like begining. Bitterness stays for longer and you can feel how it stays. Foams stays for a decent time.

12 oz bottle. BB 8/2015. From bierzwerg.de.
Clear reddish coppery colour with a foamy off-white head. Caramel sweetness, malty dryness, maple syrup as well as typical Anchor brew notes in the aroma. The flavour is hoppy bitterness, sweet caramel malt, syrupy sweetness and dryness. The combination of hoppy bitterness and syrupy sweetness is kind of bothering. Not my cup of tea.

Red and hazy in the glass. Aromas of syrup and sweet cereal. Very fall-smelling. Pecan pie. Hop bite, with some astringency on the finish. Add pine resin, apricot preserves and tree bark.

Pours a nice copper color with a large off-white head. Aroma of malt, grass and toast. Flavor of citrus, pine, caramel malt and quite a bit of bitterness in the finish.

Bottle @ home, clear copper colored with a big white creamy head. Sweet caramel and toffee aroma with a well balanced nut and breadiness, maple cyrup, pine, ripe apples, some citrus and raisins. Medium body and smooth carbonation. Taste is similar with a long lasting well balanced bitterness.

355 ml bottle. Crystal clear deep copper colour. Thick and fluffy white head that clings to the glass. Nutty bready aroma with piney and grassy Northern Brewer hops. Crisp hoppy bitter bite with chewy malts. Rich maltiness. The flavours are rich. Sharp metallic bitterness in the finish. Very drinkable and very enjoyable amber ale.

Wasn’t prepared for this, was thinking that this was going to taste like cloying sweet maple infused amber ale that was going to be more of a drain pour than enjoyable. Smooth caramel malts with a hint of hop resin, finish is smooth as well which can be tough for amber ales. Nice one.

0,355 l bottle, Csakajósör, Budapest.
Clear amber-ruby appearance with a fine creamy middle sized tan head. Aroma of the Anchor yeast-strain with fruits like raisins, fig. Fine hops, some dead fallen leaves, maple syrup. Not a very complicated body but well balanced, nice bit of hops with a malt base, bittersweet finish. Fine ale, well done.
