COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A quaffable, well-balanced red ale with character. Its malty complexity and coppery color come from a combination of two caramel malts, pale malt, and a hint of maple syrup.

Pours a orange color with a big white head. The aromas is of bread, caramel and some malty tones. I can taste caramel, pine and bitterness from the hops. And the sweetness of the maple syrup can be found in the finish..

355ml bottle. Malty, caramelly, hoppy aroma, resin, chestnut, toffee, light chocolate, hints of butterscotch, maple, almonds. Dry, medium body, mid to high bitterness, balanced CO2. Malty, hoppy taste, caramel, maple, chestnut, orange peel, yeast, earth, slightly soapy. Finishes rather harsh, with a bit of alcohol burning through. Quite nice malt structure, but slightly off balance. Bit of a disappointment. (2014-01-10)

Pours deep amber reddish with white, super thick rocky top leaving heavy lasing from the top of the glass - impressive. Aroma - medium intense toasted amber malts, some pine hints with hop herbalism on the top, pleasant, complex but not intense. Taste is light sweet, min sourish with some touch of hops bitter at the end, pleasant, smooth palette, velvety-slick texture, medium to full body, soft carbonation, medium lasting mild bitter aftertaste.

12 ounce bottle into pint glass, bottled on 7/17/2013. Pours lightly hazy orange copper color with a 2 finger dense and rocky light khaki head with fantastic retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Spotty soapy lacing clings down the glass, with moderate streaming carbonation. Aromas of orange zest, lemon zest, apple, pear, caramel, toast, brown sugar, wood, light maple, herbal, light pine, and floral earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance of malt and hop notes; with decent strength. Taste of orange zest, lemon zest, apple, pear, caramel, toast, brown sugar, wood, light maple, pine, herbal, and floral earthiness. Fair amount of earthy floral/pine bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of citrus zest, apple, pear, caramel, toast, brown sugar, light maple, wood, pine, and floral earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Nice balance and robustness of hop and malt flavors; with a good malt/bitterness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a smooth, crisp, and lightly sticky mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish. Overall this is a nice amber ale. Good balance and complexity of malt and hop flavors; and very smooth and crisp to drink. A nicely enjoyable offering.

Again.. pleasantly surprised by amber ale. Starting to love red IPA =] Malty background with notes of caramel, starts like pleasant sweet brew, but then comes subtle hop/maple syrup finish to make this brew highly enjoyable Quite fruity, but yeasty. Mostly sweet with moderate bitersweet bit dry finish. Uhh.. liked this one

Pours amber reddish, clear with nice foamy head. Aroma: citrus, honey, maple syrup very distant, caramel and toast. Body is moderate, taste is sweet and bitter. I was scared if it will be cloying because if maple syrup which I am not a fond of, however luckily it is not a case. Carbonation is very accurate which only underlines how very well balanced this beer is. Great session beer, don’t think maple when deciding whether to have a glass.

Appearance: Pours amber with a dense khaki head.

Aroma: Fresh citrusy hop nose. Sweet smell of baked honey wheat bread.

Taste: Fresh hops. Cascade like. Toasty malt. Finishes pleasantly bitter.

Mouthfeel: Full bodied. Average carbonation. Smooth finish.

Overall: This exceeded my expectations. It’s a clean, simple malty beer with some nice hop aroma and bite. I was scared it would have lots of maple going on, and fortunately for me, not the case.

12 ounce bottle from Beer Run, opened 12/6/13. Pours a clear red-amber color with a large fizzy tan head. Good head retention. Aroma of citrus and floral notes. The taste is toasted malts, stone fruits, the faintest hint of nuts and maple. Thin-medium bodied, moderate carbonation.
